iPhone 4 compatibility

Sorry if this is well trodden ground (new member) but I have been trying to get SMS to display in car with no success. Looked on the BMW website and it says SMS and email are not possible with. iPhone 4, is this correct?

Works with my 4S, you need to have alert style notifications on for SMS messages and there is a setting in your phone Bluetooth menu "Show Notifications" which must also be on. Then it will show new text messages that come through when paired.
