Bootmod3 ACN91 Stage 1 Knock detected situation
Hi everyone, I have recently done an stage 1 tune on my F30 320i N20, today I had some empty stretch of road to test it and take some logs and I can see 2 knock detected (did a quick 3rd through 4th gear pull).
I wanted to share the logs here so some of you that might be more experienced than I am could give me some inputs. Could it be spark plugs related? or just fuel (should be 91 though fuel here is not the best that's why I went with the ACN91 tune)? how can I make sure? https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=65ac...6e2a22a7314aaa Thanks! |

Just tuned it back to stock and ran another 3rd into 4th gear pull, here are the results
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=65ad...b2a83e0439d8c7 Maybe I'm looking at it wrong but I can see more knocks there aswell, does it mean I need to look into replacing the spark plugs? I think fuel can be ruled out since same thing happened on the stock map, right? Not sure what to think here... |

You should be running the best fuel you can find... not just 91 to match the tune. If that's all you have- fine and switch stations. But if higher octane fuel is available use it!

I did raise a ticket with protuningfreaks support, let's see if they can help me get another tune with different timings maybe? In case it's fuel related |

same temperature Same fuel + higher pressure = more knock Same pressure + more knock = worse fuel High pressure requires higher octane to suppress, which is why we use WMI systems or octane additives |
