F36 Axleback/Catback Recommendation

Hi all, looking to get a bit more growl out of my 435i (F36) currently with the OEM exhaust but also not looking to touch the DP anytime soon.

Does anyone have a specific recommendation for an axleback or catback exhaust?

For the F36 the options seem pretty limited unfortunately. Leaning towards Dinan as of now but would love to hear what others have done.

Slightly different sound

I prefer Remus

Would there be fitment issues with either one? I've looked into those as well but I'm concerned that they won't fit correctly since they are both listed for the F32 platform rather than 36. The AWE sounds great from what I've heard.

F30, 31, 32, 33, 36 use the same exhausts

i believe the Remus has a valve on the left pipe that operates with the OEM valve controller. the sound is OEM+ increase in tone and volume, whereas AWE is louder in all aspects especially on cold start since it has no valve.

Good to know. Definitely opens up my options. With that said I'm leaning towards AWE. I found some clips with the Remus with everything else stock and it sounds a little bit too conservative for my liking - probably has to do with the valve similar to OEM like you said. Given the price of an axleback system I want it to feel somewhat noticeable. I could see it being a great choice packaged with a MP or DP though.

Will definitely be on the lookout for xph sales over the next couple of months - have only heard great things about you guys! Are there sales somewhat frequently on AWE or Dinan specifically? I saw the Dinan I was looking at was marked down quite a bit a couple of months back and kinda bummed I didn't snag one when I had the chance.

I recently bought a Dinan free flow axle back exhaust through x-ph. I’ve been loving it. Do note that the Dinan is not a valved exhaust- the actuator is zip tied underneath the car per Dinan’s instructions. If I was doing it again, I’d buy BMW part 18302411427 to plug in the actuator wire. Its just a bit cleaner solution - there is no technical issue with zip tying the valve actuator in a secure place.
