Whatttt there's a USB port in the glovebox? I have to check that!

Also, you are getting full resolution on yours. But OP had issues? Or did you fix it like OP as well?

No there is no usb in the glove box though there is a hole there already for one. I guess previous models used to have a glovebox usb. Check out my build thread for more details on what needs to be done. Long story short...if you have the phone cradle in your center arm rest, you can remove that, then use the USB that was reserved for that and relocate it to the glove box. Even if you dont have the phone cradle option, the head unit has 2 USB ports available on the back to plug into. One is used by the center arm rest USB. Pretty painless and easy mod that cost less than $100. So now I leave the center arm rest USB free. I am very very happy with this mod.

And yes I am getting full resolution. That being said, I am only watching videos in 720p. I have not tried full 1080 yet but I will later.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I didnt have to code anything either but perhaps older cars or different parts of the world require the coding:

HU_NBT 3003 API_USB_VIDEO
I have first usb, second usb and both as options.

Had selected both but no joy as yet...

Should be set to both.

Perhaps try another movie? When I first tried to play a movie it didnt work. Then I renamed it and it worked.

This option is not available when playing through usb stick. It is only available when playing an actual dvd.

i'm still star struck that we can play movies off a flash drive.
can you transfer to the internal hdd and play off that?
from what i understand, no coding is needed to play movies from a flash drive, but still need to code if you want video in motion from a flash?

That is only while playing a dvd. Does not work for usb. Wish it could be coded in though.

Mine is working now (after a reformat of my USB drive) but as the OP stated not in full screen mode!!

I will have a play with re sizing some videos to gain the perfect ratio

If you mean USB Video, yes, you must have NBT.

Hi All,

just thought i would add my help here.

I can play videos off USB in full screen, I use a proggy called AVS video converter, in there you change the settings to 1280x700, then use the manual correction slider and move it to 100% this stretches it to full screen.

or better still, do it at 1280x480 as mentioned earlier and choose no manual correction, this seems to fit the screen much better

Used the application that the OP mentioned and I can get full screen video now which is very cool although I only put music videos in the car and the program compresses the audio quite badly.

So, close but no cigar..... I'll have a play with the settings to see if I can find the sweet spot!

I only use it for music videos as well.

For some reason I have the audio problems as well, but not on all the videos. Maybe 1/3. I am not sure why that happens?

A lot come out perfect! And some come out horrible

Yesterday I ripped 46 new videos from youtube. After re sizing 40 were perfect and 6 were no good.

Have no idea why?

What format does the USB need to be in for it to work with the car ? I added .mp4 files to my USB flash drive and the car read it but it only recognized it as audio and no video would play

Just finished coding video in motion few days ago.
First time I tried with a few vids on the usb and worked perfectly.
I loaded up a bunch of vids...20. All are MP4, 1280x480.
Now it's not working.
First wouldn't see the folder, then it saw the vids, but won't play.

Wondering: does it need time to fully index all the vids?
should the drive be in FAT32? right now its NTFS.
