I made an Excel spreadsheet that accounts for the fuel in the tank, ethanol content and octane then I can manipulate the additional gasoline and ethanol added to calculate my new ethanol content and octane. An easier way is to run the tank almost completely empty so you have a fresh start. I also will run through a couple tanks of only gasoline to get a definite fresh start.

There is a free app called "E85 blend" in the play store that does exactly what your excel sheet does

That E85 sensor is a great idea.... but no matter what you need some kind of tester for the pump before the fill up.... E85 at the pump could be E40

I thought they all had to be between a specific range, depending on the season/blend? I don't think they can market it as E85 when it's below 70% (winter blend).

Well the video and from what I've read from numerous sources is that E85 is never E85 and that you should always check and adjust accordingly especially if you plan at running at the max limit...

I miss my Evo days when I could just run pure e-85 without having worry about mixing, lol..

Check out my log I took on the way home from work... It seems I might have a boost leak. Anything else look off? 91 octane, stage 2 with vrsf 5" hd fmic, charge pipes, and down pipe and afe dry panel filter @ 2000ft elevation.

Hello All,

Rookie question. I'm going to be getting a FMIC, cp, and catless dp installed at a shop about 25miles from home and then will run the bootmod3 stage 2. Should I tune the car to stage 2 before the bolt ons are installed, or drive back and then tune the car? Don't know which is the safer option for the vehicle.

Thanks!

I'd tune after. Not only is it safer, but you'll also be able to make comparisons to the bolt-ons with stage 1 vs stage 2.

Unfortunately I will be tuning straight to stage 2. I don’t want to risk going to stage 1 with the stock chargepipe.

I've been running stage 1 with stock charge pipe for months. no issues and I'm far from conservative with it. Not saying to do it. just that I've been okay so far. Congrats though. I look forward to your impression of the setup.

Has anyone come across the DME details unavailable error??? I’m trying to activate my license and when I open up the bootmod3 agent it connects to the car and pulls the VIN however it fails to retrieve the software version of my DME and states “error DME details unavailable” I opened a ticket with PTF but the service has been subpar so far... I’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps such as disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery and all settings on my laptop have been adjusted accordingly. I’m not sure if there’s something I may be missing? If anyone has some insight I would greatly appreciate it!

Hey TDOTF30 , sorry to hear you're having issues. It may be a cable issue or something blocking the DME readout of software IDs. What is your support ticket number please?

In order to view the gauges such as IAT from the iPhone while driving, would you need the OBD agent?
