Seat Belt Cleaner / Techniques

After a brief search, Ive come up empty handed.

Wasn't so much an issue when I had the black interior but with the beige Ive noticed the seatbelts could use a freshening up.

Can anyone recommend a product they have tried on the F30 (or prior bimmer) and also what sort of technique or method you used?

A dilution of all-purpose cleaner, Folex upholstery & carpet cleaner or Woolite used with a soft brush will work. Rinse well with cold water.

I extend the belts and use a binder clip to keep them from retracting. I use Woolite as well to soak the belts and then scrub and rinse. My final rinse (or two rinses) is a mixture of 25% white vinegar and 75% water to ensure all the soap is out. Will smell like a pickle for a day and then the vinegar smell is gone. I have a two door and starch the belt where the seatbelt extender catches the belt so it doesn’t slip off.

Fellas... finally got around to picking up some Woolite. Unsure on a reasonable dilution to use. Any suggestions?

Going to pull belts all the way out, clip in place at the top and soak as much of belt as possible in the solution. Let sit for an hour and then agitate belt with a brush. Finish with a thorough rinse or two.

Scrubbin bubbles and a microfiber towel on the e46 (grey).

Nothing on the black ones on the e34 or f30.

Yes… the Woolite works well! Cant speak for the other solutions but if you have light colored belts that have some miles on them… you'll notice a fair difference at minimum and the color of the water will be proof that something is good is going on.

A couple months out and no negatives to report. Belts are very soft and no residue. The smell was pleasant at first but vanished rather quickly.
