Code out TPMS

Well, winter has finally hit the UK and I've gone over to my winter wheels on my 2015 LCI. However, the new wheels do not have the TPMS sensors on. I tried coding out the TPMS and bring back the old RPA with the following code:

In HU_NBT > 3001, code RDC to nicht_activ
In HU_NBT > 3001, code RDC_SAFETY to nicht_activ
In HU_NBT > 3001, code RPA to active

This still leaves the nag triangle and I get the chimes when I start up. So looking further into this I've found this for an F10:

Removed 2VB from FA and VO code HU_NBT and KOMBI.

(there was also some fuse pulling mentioned on the F10 but I'm not sure where the fuses are on F30 or if it needs to be done?)

Will this work for a LCI F30 or are there further steps?

And when summer finally arrives in Scotland, is it just a case of reversing this?

I've considered doing this on my E90. The reference I found is from the E84 side here http://e84.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1145078 (I have not done it yet)

Hopefully that helps!

Thanks for that, it's definitely worth a look. I'll give it a go tomorrow.

I've found another setting in addition to these:

HU_NBT_EVO > 3001, code RDC to nicht_activ
HU_NBT_EVO > 3001, code RDC_SAFETY to nicht_activ
HU_NBT_EVO > 3001, code RPA to active

There is also:

HU_NBT_EVO > 3001 > REFEINUEBERWACHUNG_RDC_RPA which can be rdc, rpa or nicht_activ

I'm going to try setting this to rpa to see if that activates the greyed out reset

I've heard that TPMS is hard to code out (at least on the E90) because its a safety feature.

Right - here's an update -

This is what I've coded so far-

HU_NBT_EVO > 3001, code RDC to nicht_activ
HU_NBT_EVO > 3001, code RDC_SAFETY to nicht_activ
HU_NBT_EVO > 3001, code RPA to active

HU_NBT_EVO > 3001 > REFEINUEBERWACHUNG_RDC_RPA Code to rpa

This has go rid of the tyre pressure failure nag and activates the RPA reset. However, when you reset you get he message that the pressures will be reset when the car is moving but that seems to never happen.

You are left with the small triangle and at startup it nags you to reset the RPA but no bongs during driving and no tyre failure nags either.

Not true, you just have to unplug the module. 5 min of coding and you're done.

I agree windcatcrazy. I think it's for the runflats

How many of us remember do this every time we had a flat?

I've got this exact same problem on my LCI F20. Did you try removing 2VB and coding NBT & KOMBI?

I'm wondering if there is another setting required in the ICM for RPA?

I was trying to see if I could get away with using the old RPA monitor and not code it out completely.

I did have a look in KOMBI and found some settings associated with the RPA but they also have DSC in the setting, so I thought it best not to touch in case it affected the stability programme.

I'll have a look at the ICM too

I don't want to code it out either, I want to use the RPA. I'm getting the same error, I can't reset the RPA - KOMBI says RDC resetting but it doesn't actually work then in get an RPA failure after 20 mins of driving

I've managed to stop the warning by coding this:

HU_NBT_EVO > 3001 > Code REFEINUEBERWACHUNG_RDC_RPA to rpa

And i've driven for more than 20mins. It just nags to reset the RPA monitor. When I do reset the RPA monitor is where it differs. In my old F30 it said you must be stationary to reset the RPA whereas the RDC needs to be in motion to reset the pressures.

Now there is another setting which I've not changed:

HU_NBT_EVO > 3001 > RDC_FORTSHRITTSANZEIGE (currently set to active)

now FORTSCHRITTSANZEIGE means progress indicator. Maybe if I code that to nicht_activ and see what happens.

Me too.

I found this: in ICM

ICM > Daten 3000 > IcmKod_B_SA2VB and set it to nicht_verbaut (not installed) but this upset the DSC and I coded it back

there are some settings in the DSC for RPA & RDC - might be worth trying those.
