Boost releasing from 3000-4000rpm WOT

2014 335xi 6MT

I recently went from BM3 stage 1 to stage 2, and the first few pulls went well. But now when in any gear 3 or above and I floor it, pulls hard til about 3k then releases pressure almost as if I had a BOV and let off the gas, then goes up to around 4k and does the same again. Similar to how the car would react with traction control in the rain, except TC is off and the road is dry. I have new plugs and coils that I will be doing this weekend. I tried searching around and found one thread where they said their CAI was getting suctioned closed, I tried to stretch the elbow to no avail. Any ideas?

Take some logs, and take a look at your fuel pressure.

I think I'm doing the logs incorrectly, does my computer need to be connected to wifi to datalog with BM3?

Following. This seems to be happening more and more often now on 6mt unfortunately.

Sounds like your fuel pump is crashing, from what my tuner told me.
I had the same issue when I got a custom tune and was pushing boost at 22psi except mine would crash at around 5k rpm. I had the boost lowered to 19psi and the issue was resolved but recently it started crashing again sometimes at WOT at around 3k rpm exactly how you described it. I'm assuming it has to do with either the colder temps or I fucked my fuel pump up lol because nothing else has changed in my car since then.

This is definitely not what is happening. OP make sure to submit a support ticket to ptf/bm3 with logs of this issue. Halim and Dzenan have seen this issue before and the more cars they see with this same issue the better they can troubleshoot it.

It is either tune related or clutch slipping.

hey I was experiancing the same thing. in WOT there is a hesitation or stutter. I am running oem spark plugs and chargepipe. I ordered the ngk plugs and I am going to gap them at .20 or .18 and install the er chargepipe. I have talked to Serge at bootmod3 and on their site they mention what spark plugs to get and how to gap them. even for the stage 1 93 octane tune. I will report back after I have them installed and see if it took away the hesitation.

I beleive it will because my spark plugs have 70k Miles on them and are gapped at factory setting. when I have switched back to the stock tune their was no hesitation. with the stage1 tune the boost level is increased which is putting out the spark plug at wot.

Are u 6mt n55? Have logs of the issue? Did u open a tune support via bm3 to notify them of the issue?

People are waaayyyyyyy too quick to start buying parts or think changing spark plugs or coils will solve all their problems!

what is it with people on this website???? I'm doing what the tuners at Bootmod3 said to do. I researched the issue. and on bootmod3 the ngk plugs are highly recommended to run the tune correctly. the plastic chargepipe is a MUST upgrade. and I need new spark plugs anyway. you made it sound like I'm aimlessly buying parts for no reason and pissing money away.

I just asked if your car was 6mt, if you had logs of the issue and if u opened a support ticket. The OP isn't going to solve this problem
By getting new spark plugs and it seems like everyone is too quick to try and solve a problem by spending money on parts like that, hardly being a cancer to the community sorry u feel that way.

Spark plugs and coils had been purchased before the issue arose as it'm a good idea to change them at 80k. I have put in a ticket as well.
