737 MAX

Would you fly on one when ‘fixed’?

I fly on a 737 8 - 10 times a year, I can imagine after years of reliable service it’d be no problem and the recent incidents forgotten about but soon after? Not so sure!

Some of the simulated videos on YouTube would turn your shit white.

No, in the same way I won't fly Air France once they fix the French.

It’s a disgrace that thing ever hit the skies in its current form.

A fundamental safety system with a SPoF, utter utter joke and I feel sorry for all those lost souls and their families, Boeing should be ashamed.

Off on hols in less than a month on a 737, luckily it’s not a max. So chalk up the 737 max and the Dreamliner you’ll never get me on. I’d rather be on a 747.

It's not the flying you're afraid of....

You are right.....No one dies of flying, they die of hitting the ground or suffocating as the plane explodes.

i'm afraid of falling and suffocating!

The UK 737 operators are Jet2 and TUI? Do you go on holiday 8-10 times a year?

A good friend of mine has been reading much more of the detailed information about the Max than I have.

Apparently the root cause of the problem is the fitting of current gen turbofan engines to an ageing airframe.

The engines are too big and therefore have to be mounted further forwards under the wings than normal, which fundamentally destabilises the aircraft, hence the need for additional controls i.e. the MCAS system.

It beggars belief that Boeing could put these planes into the air without foolproof systems. Sensor failures have been proven to be the root cause of other crashes i.e. Air France - there's no excuse for shortcuts.

Profit before principles.

Well, it matters if you are gong down when you should be going up.
I’m just curiously about the claim.

Of course only UK operators fly the 737 and of course you only fly one way

I usually go on holiday 4 or 5 times a year, the maths stacks up......

Thanks for the clarification. That was all I was asking about. I know who in the UK operates 737, I mentioned it in my post. I usually count flights as one journey, being there and back, as rarely if at all would I fly there and remain.
It’s a bit like those in the gym that claim they lift x. What each side? I thought not.

They're going to have to run hard to get out of the way of the shit storm that is around them on this one and the FAA, but the FAA can't go bust but Boeing can.

Yeah may be. But you made out to be an international globe trotter when in reality you “all inclusive” 4 times a year.

I simply asked for clarification, which has great fully been received.

I'm sure the FAA let them self cert it?

If that's the case then that's where the wheels fall off.

You are now after a rise and you won't get one mainly because you are wrong.

Happens to everybody at some stage, some more than others.
