Call stalled, rpm jerk when going into gear - 2013 F30 328i
Hello.
Yesterday, I noticed the car's rpms being a little wonky and some jerking when coming to a stop. I pulled over and looked under my hood to notice my intake was off of the actual air intake. The clamp was extremely lose, so I tightened it back up and put the hose back in place and everything was fine. Drove about 10 miles to work, then back home. Today, I had to go somewhere so when I put the car into reverse, the RPM's jerked down below 500 then back up to the normal position they're usually at (about 800), but the car drove fine. I came back home and let the car sit for about an hour. I started the car again, let it warm up for a few minutes, then I put it into drive (didn't press on the gas at all), let it roll and it stalled. I immediately turned the car off, opened the hood, checked the intake clamp and hose both of which were intact. Nothing was lose. I re-secured the clamp but untighting it and retighting it, and tried again. When I put it into drive the RPMs again jerked down below 500 then back up. I haven't attempted to drive the car because I'm not sure what the issue is and don't want to risk damaging the engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated |
