Does anyone has this problem and solutions.

Thanks in advance.

Nice, thanks for posting. It gave me the confidence to prise out two of the caps on my F30, far more force needed than I would have used without this knowledge. I used a strip of adhesive-backed felt (usually stuck on the bottom of wooden chair legs), cut into a very thin strip and stuck around the inside of the caps. I stuck them at the bottom of the cap, to ensure they weren't visible from the top. Finally I used a screwdriver to squash down the felt so there was a defined hole for the snipper to sit in.

The first one took me 15 minutes, mostly trying to prise out the cap. The second one took 5 minutes from start to finish.

For those planning to do the same, bear in mind the top of the cap is angled to follow the door trim. I struggled because I was trying to prise it out "straight" which of course was actually askew. Inserting a credit card under each side minimises the problem. On the front door it helps to put the window down so you can work from outside with the door shut.

I finally tackled this issue on my F30 today. I used a Y-shaped trim removal tool to gently pry out the surrounds. They come out easily enough but you need to have patience and be gentle but kind of forceful. I know that sounds strange but when you get one out you'll see what I mean!

When they come out they may look as though you have damaged/disfigured them but they are meant to look a bit askew.

I put the soft side of velcro around the inside. There is plenty of clearance but don't bring the velcro past the lip as you look into them from underneath. This is where you will have problems getting them back on. If they don't slide back on gently you will have to go again. The key here is to not bring anything onto the lip.

Finally got around to dealing with the annoying rattle on my driver door. I pried it off as per the instructions here and looked inside as one of the other posters mentioned. I saw the little tabs, 2 were fine and 1 was broken off so I used a small screwdriver to push the tabs out and and reinstalled and no more rattle.

Figured I'd post a picture so others could see what the tabs are.

had the same issue, some single taped padding ( Velcro ) worked out so far. I used the tape to attach to the pin holding adapter.

Mine are still rattle free 6 weeks later after my posting above about just pushing the tabs back out.

Took mine in for repair and occasionally I can still hear the rattle, might need to pay another visit so they can fix the problem.

i had a rattle that I was certain this was the culprit (so was the dealer) and it turned out to be that plastic led lighting strip that runs along the door that lights up when you unlock the car/open the doors.

Which side is the one is having problem? Mine is on the right rear passenger and will pay attention if that piece came loose.

Passenger side, front door. I am going to try and get them to replace it or reattach when I bring the car in for 1 year service. Its a really annoying buzzing over certain kinds of rough highway, the washboard kind of highway sections. For the time being I installed a very small strip of foam gray weatherstripping on the underside of the trim and the buzzing went away.

Just unlock the car, give the pins a lick, and lock again... works wonders

FYI this should be covered under warranty. Both front pins were rattling like a sumbitch on my F31 over some types of pavement. Told my SA and they swapped them with the updated part that has the felt on the interior(?) and they are much more solid with no play and no rattles.

I mentioned it to the Service Mgr on my last visit and they wanted me to authorize up to $150 analysis fee in case whatever it was wasn't covered under the warranty (even though I told him what it was), to them to stuff it.

any part #? I guess I'll just tackle it myself or have the dealer try, only 2500 miles to next service. It's rattling on all 4 doors!!

Better late then never but thank you and everyone else in this thread for posting detailed images. Going to tackle this today, I can't stand the rattle.

Edit: Project complete, thanks guys! As everyone else has noted, there is a lot more resistance to pulling out the pin sheathes than I expected, but sure enough it came out. I used ACE felt pads and just cut them to size and ran a ring on the inside. The pins now fit snug through the felt and I think the issue is cleared up.

Fixed my rattly old pins today with cloth wiring loom tape. Transformation! All those rattles were bad for my soul, so pleased they are gone now.
