Little advice on a 320i if possible

Hey guys, was a member here a few years ago had a lovely f30 but had to get an estate (kids prams) so left the club for a bit

HOWEVER!

been offered a cracking deal on a 320i tourer and Even in these uncertain times where my jobs on the line daily.. I want it.

So! With that said is there anything I need to look out for?
It’s a 68 plate m sport shadow edition.
320i petrol xdrive

It’s done around 20k I assume with FSH,
My first point of concern was it being in the high tax bracket because surely that’s over 40k new?
The dealer assured me it’s not and it’s the normal tax

I’m hearing mpg is around 32 which is probably manageable I do try like a granddad these days but it will be painful against my diesel but nevermind on that.

My old f30 was pre facelift but I’m assuming the engines are the same? I had no issues in my two years owning that one and it gives me confidence knowing I’ve got about a years warranty left on it

Honestly if there’s anything anyone can contribute I’d really appreciate it, I’ve been trying to get back in this club for a long ass time and I loved my f30.

Just don’t want to buy into problems
Thanks everyone

I looked up “68 plate” and it appears that would be a 2018 model for the U.S. Given that you should be pretty safe regarding reliability. The N20 motor had some timing chain guide issues prior to March 2015 production, but that was rectified. I believe your 320i is our 328i. Do you know the horsepower? Post a link if you’d like and we’ll take a look at it. I’d say go for it.

You can get some details regarding equipment at www.mdecoder.com or www.bimmer.work

Okay, at 184 hp your 320i would be the same as ours. Our 328i & 330i have around 250 hp.

I love my 320i. No problems yet, major or minor to speak of. I have 68k miles on it currently. Averaging 32mpg with 75% highway driving. It's plenty quick for me.

The 2018 should have a B48 so id imagine there shouldn't be any concern with the motor.

-The first service would be at end of 2nd year or 18000miles, so if one is done, it'll be FSH
-If you want to be sure about the car tax, ask to see the registration certificate. The additional tax will be noted at the bottom if applicable. The additional tax is paid just for the first 5 years, and this will also be noted there.

Based on the horsepower numbers the OP gave (184) his 320i would be the same as ours and have the N20 motor. My speculation that their 320i was our 328i was incorrect.

I bought a 2016 320I CPO in Jan 2019 with 32k miles. I am now up to 52k miles with no issues whatsoever. I added a JB+ to bring the hp above 200 which made it much more fun to drive.

It's a lovely car for sure, and congrats on the new purchase, but 32mpg is diabolical fuel economy for a 2L 184bhp petrol engine.
