I have the same Route 66 Easy Street plan with the electronics rider for the same price through my CU. Exclusionary with no deductible, it covers a lot.

So far they've only paid for my oil pan gasket since that's all I've had go wrong but I have 25k left of coverage. My second gear synchro is starting to give up, already had them confirm coverage so they'll likely be getting me a new transmission soon.
I've done so much research on warranty than the car before buying it. Route66 is legit so far. Glad it also worked out for you man

Jump ahead 2 years to March 2017. Decided to keep car and went shopping for EW.

They were my first call.

Told me I had to have it from the beginning. Could not add it now. BTW, I was well under 15K miles. In fact under 10k miles.

Regardless, whether on Day 1 or prior 1 year, 3 months, you are still paying for almost 3 years while covered under factory warranty.

It's not as easy to get as your original post infers as that post did not include prior to 15th month of ownership.
You are correct. I have GEICO MBI and I am paying about $110/year for MBI. That may go up marginally so at the end of the four year BMW OEM warranty I will have paid $500 when the GEICO policy cuts in. Still a heck of a deal. So...yes...one is paying for it for four years when one doesn't need it but that is likely what makes it so affordable. It is still a lot cheaper than a BMW extended warranty and covers everything (in my case I have two motors, a 180 HP ICE and a 111HP electric motor).

Been trying to do some research and see what might be my best option, if there is one.

2015 335 currently less than 7500 miles. It’s obviously not a CPO. Would it be worth looking to a warrenty with such low miles? Is it worth getting one from BMW? I can always put my stock tune on and change the CTS downpipe back to stock for an inspection if needed. Now I am pretty mechanically inclined and short of engine internals, I’m fairly confident on most projects, but I’d still have to pay for parts. Not sure if that would change things.

TIA, I’ve never looked into 3rd party warrenties before this car.

I want to know the exact same thing. I am very mechanical having done engine swaps, suspension, brakes, supercharger installs, electrical. I have a 2015 435i with 45k miles. Warranty runs out around july 2019. I do plan on tuning and modding soon. Not sure if a warranty would even be logical.

PS: How the hell do you have only 7500 miles on a 2015??? Is that a typo?

Not a typo. Bought it with 6,800mi about a month ago. Practically was brand new (looked it) but for 1/2 price. Factory warranty expired the day I picked the car up.

I purchased a Route 66 Easy Street Plan based on the recommendations on forum. When the actually policy came in and I read all the fine print on it, and realized all the gotchas, I first called and confirmed my suspicions.

After they confirmed, I called CU and cancelled. The CU asked why so I told them the reality of the coverage. CU was shocked and said they didn’t blame me.

The only reality I've seen so far is paid claims. Please tell us what's really happening.

Read the policy for what is stated...and more importantly, what is not, along with all the gotchas.

Exclusionary warranties are great because what is not written is covered. Just say what's not written, it'd be very helpful.

Regardless, many Dealers have heard the myth for years and so accept it as fact.
I have heard the same thing for other cars. Dealers buy into it because they donít have negotiate and they make more money. Just like the dealer fees in Florida.
