Is F30 so reliable that online forums are so quiet?

The F30 has been out almost 5 years now, so many F30s should be past 50k to 100k miles. There are not many posts about significant after warranty repairs, so does it mean F30(especially I4) is very reliable?

I just turned 10Kw/o any issues. My '06 E91 I remember had to go in the first year for some little things. I think that since the extended BMW warranty doesn't go much over 70K miles is interesting due to the fact my E91 had a 100K extended warranty. Makes me wonder if you don't want anything to do with these cars after 70K.

Only thing I've had at 65K is the mass air flow sensor went bad. Covered under extended warranty, so only a $100 deductible.

They have to be way more reliable than older models. My 2011 335 was reliable but it had its issue's here and there. But whats not reliable is my wife's 2017 Audi S3 that car has less than 2k miles on it and has been in the dealer longer than we've actually owned the car. We haven't even bothered to go pick the car up from the dealership. They are trying so hard to get us to pick the car up and since we won't pick the car up we returned the loaner car the day they called us to come pick the car up. But when I got in the car the check engine light was on so I handed them the keys back and told them to keep their loaner car because we dont want that piece of shit back until the check engine light was off. We did love the car but not anymore. They can keep it and crush it, burn it, flip it I dont care and frankly my wife doesn't either. But just because we payed 50k+ for that car we are going to go pick it up from the dealership and just park it. And the funniest part is the fact that our 2014 S6 was the perfect car! It had no issues whatsoever. And they still have it sitting on the lot w/32k miles on it. I just want to do a trade out give us our S6 back and you can have the S3.

Fuel Pump went bad on my 2013 328i sportline. It was replaced under factory warranty...now I'm at 56k miles....hoping for another 100k miles with minimal issues.

CPO 2013 328i N26
Problem free for the 30k miles I put on it in 1 year of ownership before my accident. It had 67,XXX miles and was still running strong without any problems in sight even though I beat the shit out of it.

Had my 2013 328i for a year, bought at 52k now at 65k. No drivetrain stuff, just a window motor and side cameras replaced under CPO. I'm planning on owning well outside CPO, hoping that with proper maintenance and upkeep it will live up to the BMW name.

I'm at just under 42,000 miles without any major issues. There's quite a bit of rattling/creaking from the interior plastics but nothing mechanical.

I'm just hoping I don't run into any issues with the timing chain/guides failing. Really wish BMW would either issue a recall or extend warranty coverage on these parts. I'd be content with the latter and it won't cost them a dime until it actually fails on a customer vehicle.

It is cool to hear other F30 owners are having good experience as well.

Mine is MY13 and has 45k miles, bought new with 5 miles. The car was in the shop for a whopping 20 times. Most were maintenance(including free wiper blades and key batteries) and SIB's that were not grouped together, and the dealer was close to work for 15-minute drop-off+loaner.

The non-SIB/non-maintenance issues were false alarms, stuck front door latches, front door weather strips, rattles and squeaks.

The SIBs did suck, basically early adapters are guinea pigs to flush out production issues.

Since warranty expiration the car has been solid, and the only visit was a $80 0w30 oil change.

MY2012 Non-CPO 328i with 45k kms now, just had one oil leak which used car lot fixed for me. It was a dried up gasket at the oil level sensor. I blame the Quebec roads it was subject to before I took posession.

Still worried about the timing chain issue though.

Maybe too new, but 15K+ miles in an LCI 2016 F31, through two oil services, and not a single issue of any kind (except the factory misadjustment of the bleeding LED headlamps). ZMP and ZTR and xDrive, and I still have just as much fun driving the F31 as my Porsches. The LCI F31 (suitably optioned) is the ultimate practical daily driver. Too bad BWM are going to take the model away from us with the G20. Please, sir, may I have some more?

2014 F30 335i RWD with M Sport Package with 75k miles. I factory ordered this and have kept it since.

It's been reliable so far. I bought the extended warranty to 5 years /100k miles but haven't not used it so far.

I have to say this forum is the exact opposite of what I've been used to with GM/Cadillac. Thank you BMW, thank you

Fuel pump went out but other than that it's been solid so far.

The E46 an E39 forums were populated with repairs and non-maintenance DIYs at this stage of the production cycles(5-6 years in). It looks like the F-chassis, and esp. the I4 engines, have been doing pretty well.

It's great to see, especially when a few "so called friends of mine" recommended against anything German due to cost and reliability, especially BMW. I'm finding that they're more morons than friends, lol

the e90 is more reliable then the f30.

the turbo 4 N20 seems to have oil pressure and timing chain issues once you near 70k.

Mine has been below average, 2013 328i x-drive sport-line, 36k miles. The following is my list of "breakdowns" all fixed under warranty.

Leaking rear differential from half-shaft seal
Exhaust VANOS solenoid failed
FEM ECU glitches, replaced
Exhaust flap rattle when cold (dealer refuses to fix)
Thermostat failed
Radiator fan failed
Oil Filter Housing Gasket leak, replaced
Valve Cover Gasket starting to sweat in a few places
Bubbling paint on plastic roof rails, rails replaced
Failed thermostat on ATF heat exchanger, heat exchanger replaced

I think this is a lot of problems for a premium brand vehicle that is less than 4 years old. I will not be keeping this car at lease-end but will likely lease another BMW. I have brand loyalty to BMW having owned many vehicles over the years and will give them another chance.

I got mine as a CPO and it had 29k miles on it. I'm just about at 40k miles and zero problems.

I did I get call from the dealer letting me know that my low pressure fuel pump is under factory recall. But that's getting replaced by BMW so it's okay.

First BMW and I'm glad that it's reliable

Ok, this is a F32 yet.... A big part of why i chose to get a CPO 2014 435i (with M options and most other bits) is due to reliability plus the engine/trans combo seems to be a real winner in performance *and* reliability.

Ok, other reasons were the lowest CG BMW offers and 50/50 weight split. When you plan to track a car these things do matter. BTW soon she'll be a full Dinan Stage 4 and thus equal to a current stock M4 in HP/TQ, yet in what i felt was a better looking package with good interior space.

All in all, expect this to be a very reliable N55 / 8 speed trans combo.
