I got an OEM M-Performance LSD for $455.

may be old news, but ecs is selling the lsd for very cheap. all other vendors are sold out. price went up a bit but supply and demand plays a factor.

I recieved it for $455. it used to be over $2300 I'm ecstatic to have it.

Yes, pretty exciting indeed. It went on *sales* about a good month ago and quickly sold out. Did you catch it then and just had it delivered? Or did you just order it? Backorder is about mid-July for ones ordered around June 1.

How did you get it for $455? Their site says $648. I ask because I got mine from there and it wasn’t $455.

Will have to keep a lookout for when LCI units go on sale. They usually drop the price and then when it's about to be discontinued they practically give them away to clear inventory.

So will stock eventually dry up and BMW isn't making them any more?

Yes for older models they eventually stop making the m performance parts as there isn't enough demand to continue making them. You can still get aftermarket parts but I don't know how good or if anyone makes aftermarket LSD.

Why BMW would risk their reputation, break the law and sell drugs is beyond me.

Based on what they did on these, that will be around 2024.....providing the current parts are not compatible with the new G20 or other models.

And that could depend on how many unsold units that remain at that time.

It's doubtful it's compatible with G20 as it is a completely different car.

Yet many parts from the E90 335i work on the F30 335i and that was a "completely different car" as well.

As realoem still does not list the diff for the G20s, right now it's an unknown.

However, the G20 specs for the 330 still show it using a 2.81 final, just like the F30 LCI.

Not saying it won't/can't share the same diff part number...but at least with the e90 335i and the F30 335i they had overlap of the n55. I know you 100% know the G20's have the b58 (for the 340, trying to keep all things as equal as possible). So it less likely they could have the same diff. But,again as you said, part numbers for the G20 are not in realoem yet...and for their sake lets hope either it doesn't and their price will drop, or there will be a second run of new m performance LSD's.

Errrr....you know the F30 LCI and G20 both have B58?

This is a 8AT 3.15 rear end diff.

The 340 F30 LCI rear end was dropped to 2.81.....better fuel economy.

So this will not work with the 8AT LCI.

If I'm not mistaken, believe the G series uses an electronic torque-vectoring LSD, they dubbed a M Sport differential, similar to the M cars now.

So if that's the case, I'm 100% it won't work.

I've seen BMW Group's press release: "the new M Sport differential. Through a targeted locking effect on the rear axle, the electronically controlled system, which is linked to the DSC stability programme, creates the optimum prerequisites for even more dynamic acceleration out of bends."

Although, are ALL G20 using these or just the M340?
