TPMS compatibility- exchangable retrospectively

Can you use a TPMS from an older model on a newer car if the part says it was superseded by the part on the newer car?

36106881890 is listed for my car.

Can I use 36106856209 on a 2018 F30?

Probably not???
2014ish was a frequency change for the tpms sensors

looks like it wont work. if you need sensors, check out RG Sport for a great deal on them
