Key fob Battery
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Issue: Key fob battery "appears" to be weak. I frequently have to be right next to the car to get it to work. (car built May 15, 2013) Question: If the battery actually does need replacing, is it straight-forward swap or does it need to be re-programmed to "match" the car? I "think" it's straight-forward swap but you guys are SO on top of these things I thought I'd ask you. Thanks in advance! |

Simply swap in a new CR2450. Takes but a minute.
I had a different issue-- my proximity lock on the driver side would only work intermittently when the key was in my pocket with my leg PRESSED AGAINST the car. A replacement door handle solved the issue but only after the dealer replaced the fob battery to "fix" it, despite me telling them I had already done so. |
