Its on the passenger side, right below windshield. When you pop the hood remove the piece of plastic below the windshield then down in there is a plastic grate that is the air intake. Unfortunately its hard to reach because its partially blocked but you can still usually vacuum it out and reach it with aerosol spray (with fan on high of course). If you are going to do the spray, you have to remove your filter first and close back up the filter holder, otherwise all your spray will just hit the filter and never reach the evap

Maybe somebody pooped in the fresh air inlet at your cowl.

I’d like to meet the guy whose poop smells like a perfumy detergent.

Fair point.
Are you sure it's not a scented interior spray that the detailer used, like Chemical Guys? I spray that on the carpet in the foot well, right on the firewall, so the scent is moved around as soon as the interior fan starts blowing.
Well, at least it doesn't smells like poop, so that's one thing less to worry about.

That's exactly what I think it is to be honest, and I think it is eminating from the carpet. Hopefully it just dissipates over time. I've been leaving the windows open while parked in the garage, and every time I stick my head in the window, it still smells like whatever that scent is. Not offensive per se, but not what I want my car to smell like.

It will definitely get less over time.
I use a leather scented spray from Chemical Guys, and although it doesn't smell like real leather, I like it as it makes the car smell new (that's what passengers tell me). It does slowly disappear after a while.
