Who now owns an M3/M4?
In the last 6-8 months there seems loads of people moved over to M3/4's.
And with JustChris now jumping ship and soon to pick up an M3 ....... just a simple poll to see how may have moved from an F3x to an M3/M4?

I wont have PETA following me around due to the amount of creatures that need to be slaughtered to furnish your monstrous leather clad snooker table with wheels. Do you find Bulls try to mount your car if you stop at traffic lights?

Been considering an M3 CP (rather than the M4 based on needing to carry ageing relatives once in a while who would never make it into the back of a coupe).
Very dependent on a test drive though because it needs to be a DD for a while and I do like my comfort.

335d to M4 CP.
Still have the 330e. So I've had diesel, hybrid, petrol and touring, saloon, coupe. Also xdrive and sdrive! I think I need to try getting a life next.

Interesting poll - interested to see the results.
I had tried to set up a poll on who on here has a F30&31 diesel / petrol / electric / not a F30&31. Sensing the number of people with their original cars have reduced but stayed on here - which is good! |

Every time I look at it, I simply cannot justify or rationalise an M3 instead of my 340i... The ability of the M3 over the 340i simply is not worth the extra £10k/£20k (depending on spec)... IMHO of course...
I cannot imagine I would drive an M3 much differently to the 340i so, well, that's kind if that, right... I've had some pretty quick cars in my time and, frankly, the last true performance car I had (however wonderful) was simply too quick for the public highway... I like the balance of performance/usability in the 340.

If you set everything to Economy/Comfort I think you'll find it very similar to your 340 M Sport comfortwise (there is no other sensible comparison though - it is an entirely different animal) - I went from a 335d (so SE springs) and yes it is obviously firmer but it is fine. I was also impressed with how quiet it is in those settings (and I have the MPE). I found the rear to be more comfortable than the F3x bench - slightly more sculpted and softer on account of the Merino... Cold start is another matter as is setting everything to Sport + but then that is why you buy the car

I'd love one but will live with the 440i with MPPSK for now. Power and sound are okay but the suspension and steering could be better. Maybe an M4 is the answer?

Prior to getting my 440i GC last year I did test drive an M3 and loved it.
There were a few things that stopped me: 1. At the time the M3 was considerably more expensive to finance. 2. The running costs were going to be considerably higher on the M3. I do 25,000 a year give or take and the increased fuel and particularly servicing costs weren't particularly palatable. 3. Would need new set of Winter wheels and tyres. 4. And this ultimately is the sticking point - I just can't get on with a regular saloon/coupe. I really don't know why BMW has stuck with making the M3/M4 so impractical when Audi and Mercedes offer the full fat RS and AMG variants across pretty much all body styles. |

Mind you, even at zero percent, £50k still costs you £50k in the end (unless you hand back)... Would anybody care to share (roughly) the sorts of finance quotes you get now on new and au cars..??
