I think we need to start being specific as to what 2 piece we are talking about. I'm not sure if I'm completely correct on this so correct me if I'm wrong.
The OEM rotors are 2-piece but the rotors are riveted to the aluminum hat. Then there are the semi/floating rotors that are bolted to the hat like what ECS offers. I got a set of Brembo 2-piece dimpled and slotted (09.C394.13, 09.C395.13)that replaces the OEM M Performance Brake rotors (34106797603, 34206797600) Great! It was difficult (for me at least) to find a set of 2-piece all around for the 370/345 rotors. Hopefully people will take advantage of it.

Yeah I don't mind if they re riveted or not honestly. Just the weight savings of not having a full cast rotor. If they are that cost-prohibitive, I'll just get OEM riveted blanks.

What's your aversion to having dimples on the rotors?

I swapped out my R1 concept rotorsand pads for both front and rear with stoptech because of the squeaking noise in the cold. I noticed that the rotors were a bit rusty where the dimples were too. Very pleased with Stoptech so far. |

Dang. And this is your first winter with them, right? Sure it wasn't the pads? I'd probably run some hawk ceramics with the r1 slotted rotors when it comes down to it. I know high performance pads squeal some but for a daily driver i'd be more concerned with reducing dust.

Ah gotcha. I may still give em a shot considering i don't drive much in winter. I've had EBCs in the past but I got hooked on hawks after trying them, and their easier to find/cheaper in my experience.

Hey guys - something you may want to consider here is not just the weight between the two style of rotors. If you guys are using the Brembo calipers then they're "fixed". They don't slide/adjust/float like the typical Bosch units with the separate caliper and "carrier" with slide pins. So, the idea behind the two piece rotor is to also allow for it to adjust and move since the caliper is rigid mounted to the spindle. A totally cast single piece rotor will not allow for this.
