Rear differential leaking?

Hey guys,

I have a 2014 328i with about 41000 miles on it. I took the car for servicing back in April and was told that my axle seals were seeping. I did nothing for the last 5 months and decided to finally get it fixed. The odd thing is that yesterday, one service center told me there is a leak and another one told me there isn't. The second one showed me the axle seals - there is a black patch but there is no oil whatsoever anywhere (it is a dry patch). Apparently that is "category A" leak (negligible oil leaking) which the mechanic asked me to ignore but keep an eye open for wet patches in my driveway. However I am not too sure about that since I am concerned about the black patch near the seals being caused by a slow leak or something. Any idea what I should do (pictures attached)? The dealership wants to charge me 300 bucks just to look at the car visually
