Alcantara Steering Wheel II steering wheel cover for my BMW.

Hi all,

I bought a Alcantara Steering Wheel II steering wheel cover for my F36 (2020 BMW 430Xi).

Part #: https://shop.bmw.ca/a/BMW__340i/6675...y/03_0095.html

However, I am nervous to install this myself. It looks like I have to take off BOTH the front air bag + the entire steering wheel. Anyone done this mod? Is it better just to take the bullet and get BMW service to do it?

Appreciate the advice.

Derek

It's an easy mod to do. Look up YouTube videos, compete waste of money for any shop to do it, much less a dealer.

Sounds good to me. I tried googling around, but I cannot find anything. Can someone kindly provide a link?

It's 100% plug and play. Though, I think the new steering wheel might not have steering wheel heating. So you might not be able to used that, if your car was equipped with it.

I don't believe that will throw any fault codes if it is missing. Maybe just in the background, among all the other minor faults.

Does your new wheel have the connector? This is the electrical connector for the heating element on wheels equipped with heated steering wheels.
