N55 WHP dyno numbers are around 5-7% under marketing bhp. So yeah, would expect actual bhp around 340. lbs per hp should very be similar to the C450 AMG, assuming MB didn't underrate heh.

Is this water reservoir lid easily accessible on the B58 water charge cooler?
i.e. Can ice be added prior to track/circuit laps as in older systems?

Can anyone confirm if the B58 timing chain(at the back of engine close to firewall) is visible through the oil cap opening?

No, but maybe if using a small flexible inspection camera. I remember that the valve/ cam cover fits close and may not allow the camera access.
I have included pictures below that may help. The first is the B58 (6 cylinder engine) cam cover from post #1. You will notice that the oil cap #17 is about inline with cylinder #4 (counting front to rear).

The second picture I took of the B38 engine (3 cylinder engine) with the injection removal tool mounted. The brass nuts w/knurled silver nuts is located above a fuel injector for pulling the injector during service.
The oil filler cap is about inline with #1 cylinder (front cylinder). You can see that both of the "B" style modular engines have about the same distance from oil fill to timing chain. You can see the far rear hump where the chain is located on the B38 photo.

What are the reason for individually cooling the turbo and what sort of modifications have been done to the oil filter housing? What is the difference between closed deck and whatever was in the n55? Do you people think this will be a reliable, long lasting motor? Apparently this engine is even less DIY friendly then before... curious to see how that goes.

Thanks for the info. Just curious, does issue with timing chain cause CEL and other fault codes?

Hello Guys, I'm new to here. Is any hope this B58 engine will be also available with manual transmission in the next generation 3 Series? I'm worry, I don't have the necessary cash to buy the current generation and the next gen is coming so soon...

Has anyone went with a synthetic 0-40w oil? Are the bearing clearance identical to the N55?

My B58 has been pretty reliable so far. Then again, i'm only at 21K miles so far.

I can't find any diagrams online regarding a wiring schematic.

Can someone please help me find this part number for this part of the wiring harness?

One of these wires are damaged not allowing my AC fan to turn on.

Appreciate it
