F30 N57 engine off clicking sound

Hello,

please can anybody recognize this clicking sound from the video. It knocks like this for a while after turning off the engine. What could it be?

Get a long screwdriver and put it on various parts like the Egr and listen to the other end. It will become obviously what part is making the noise.

Swirl flap actuator ?

It’s standard post-shutdown procedure. A solenoid or actuator is being cycled.

I’ve read that it’s the EGR valve.

The 30d in my car does this frequently, and has done it for years.

Nothing to worry about.

Yeah it's the EGR valve. It's pulsed after shutdown to clear soot off the sealing surface. It will fault code if the valve doesn't close properly.
