F32 Trunk Spoiler to hide a dent

Hey guys, My trunk opened and hit the very edge (the area where its angled and flat. i was already considering the lip spoiler for it so id like to just use it to cover the dent itself. can anyone confirm if any lip spoilers actually cover this area

thank you

If you don't mind the dent is there then just cover it up with the spoiler. You won't see it after that but you know its there 😂

If you're missing paint, you will regret hiding it with the spoiler. It will rust, and you will destroy the trunk lid.

But to answer your question, yes the spoiler should cover that area.

During resale, make sure you let the buyer know the dent is there. Otherwise, you’ll be charged for fraud.

Don’t be that guy

You may not be able to see it, but the dent could have compromised the shape of the trunk lid so that the spoiler wouldn't fit properly. It's not likely, but it's certainly possible.

I'd at least try to do some PDR, then touch it up with touch-up paint, THEN put the spoiler on. That will avoid issues with potential rust and fitment.

Also, used car sales are always implied as-is. Unless you specifically told him that there was no body damage on the trunk (and it'd have to be in writing to likely prove it), there is no way you will face any legal repercussions for this damage. I'm not saying you shouldn't disclose that info, but you definitely don't have to unless they ask about dents and you guarantee it doesn't have any.

i dont plan on selling this, its just a lease return at the end or a trade in at the dealer. although, the rust is a good point. i think ill have to definitely coat it first. its a very tiny dent that didnt warp anything. good tips though. thank you. i think ill pick up one of those.
