Anyone got a G30/31?
The official 5 bit of Bimmerpost is a bit bleak and Im fairly sure there are some grown ups on here
Have just pulled the trigger on a 530d Touring, Ive driven a couple and theres nothing that was obviously in need of change so Ive decided to take advantage of dealers having a clear out with the LCI rapidly approaching So are there any top tips I should have a look at please in the next week or so before it comes. My main question is what size wheels and tyres do most run for a winter set up? Its a 'regular' MSport on 19's. I'll probably take my chances till summer to buy the tyres but am keen to get a set of OEM alloys in the meantime. This board is a great place to buy and sell from decent people, any ideas of a similar community for the 5, Id rather avoid ebay Cheers |

I've got 19" 664M for summer and run square set of 245/45/18 from MrWinterWheels. I considered the 17" bit it looks really odd on the G31.

Good choice. I was between a 540i Touring and the 640i GT, buying 6 months old, and the 640 won on value for money and standard equipment (plus a bigger load capacity) but there's not a great deal in it. 5 Touring is a lovely car and the 6-pot diesel is a gem. Great power delivery and amazing economy. My 50,000 miles in a 530d averaged 46 mpg!

I've bought a 520i
Althought an M-Sport it has 18 inch wheels. When I was talking to the salesman he said 19 inch come with the M-Sport+ Maybe the bigger engined models have different wheels ? |

4-Cyl MSport has 18" 662M as standard, which isn't a bad looking wheel. 4-Cyl MSport+ pack or 6 cylinder MSport gets 19" 664M. Really like the 664M, not a fan of the 20" 759.

I'm surprised HighlandPete hasn't been along to suggest small wheels and adaptive damping yet
Anyway, I really enjoyed our 540i with AC Schnitzer springs and 20" wheels (and non-runflats of course). Mega comfortable and quite chuckable for such a big bus. Enjoy! |

No winter wheels on mine - just the standard 20" rims and Michelin Pilot Sports. When the weather is bad, just drive the Mini instead or stay at home!
Congrats on new car, it is just a great vehicle. |

I went over Ludlow yesterday .. It was impossible to keep to your own side of the road without wrecking your car due to endless pot holes that looked like meteorite crash sites! |
