https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...38#description I still have not seen any part that actually transfers the fuel, but im sure one has to exist as the transfer happens somehow. |

I had similar issues with mine, ultimately it was the HPFP. I changed from my Stage 2 LPFP back to the stock LPFP and it was good for about a day so I thought that was it but then it happened again. After changing the HPFP last fall I haven't had an issue since.
The first instance stalling was going about 25 mph along with a low pressure code, I forget what it was. This led me to change my LPFP back to stock, I've had lots of practice so I can change in in like 15 min lol. After that I had it stall at highway speed along with a high pressure code, then I replaced the HPFP which fixed my issue.

I just went stock, if the Dorsch would have been out I would have probably done that. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...4231kt#fitment

Turned out to be his LPFP. He replaced with a new one. Also his cleaned fuel tank might also play a factor here.
Well...for me my solution is to keep my fuel always above 1/4 tank. Puzzle solved. |

Hello all, I recently have been having this same exact issue as OP. Here’s the story. In June this year I took my 2013 335i drive that I recently purchased to a bmw dealership do a general inspection to make sure nothing was wrong. They informed me that my vehicle had an active recall on the lpfp. I went ahead with the recall, and a few weeks later I started having issues of my car stalling around 1/4 of a tank. My car was able to start back up though, and was able to drive to a gas station. I took it back to the dealership a couple weeks ago and told them about the issue and also informed them it was likely the lpfp as I only started having issues with it after the recall. They said the lpfp was good and not the issue. They recommended to replace the entire fuel tank because the level sensor in the tank had gone bad. The repair cost was initially ~$1,300 and they misquoted the repair and later said it would be $1800 after they did the repair, for the repair, and that’s after they cut the cost down. After paying so much money I was sure the issue wouldn’t happen again, but low and behold last week I was left stranded as my car would not start and the fuel tank was bone dry with the fuel gauge showing 1/4 and 86 miles left. I have an appointment with bmw in a couple days. I would like to have more knowledge on this issue and would be greatly appreciate if I could get more input on this. Am I entitled a refund because they misdiagnosed the issue?

cwolfe12898, what did you find out at the dealership? Did you get your money back? What was the root cause? I’m trying to diagnose the same issue. TIA

Has anyone figured this issue out?
My 335i stalls at just above 1/4 tank. The car reads 22 liters of fuel in the left tank and almost nothing on the right tank when it stalls. If I put in 5 liters it will read that in the right tank... Perhaps try empty the tank, replace LPFP and fuel filter?? |

It could be the fuel pump in the gas tank. My old E46 had this exact issue and it was the fuel pump
