What specific codes do you have? It should be tight at the intake also, the metal clamping ring should hold it in place |

They are absolutely trying to give it in my meth bung without lube. Anyway, I’m new to all of this, I don’t have ISTA or Carly, I had to get a reader from O’Reillys which gave me something at least. I’ll put some pics in and I’ll translate if I need to. Also, I just got this vehicle from the same dealership, and I needed to have a water pump replaced because it was staying on and draining my battery. It came out of maintenance with this issue above and other electrical issues, TPMS/Key fob antenna not working. EVERYTHING worked fine before the water pump was replaced. And they still say I am responsible to pay it gets repaired by them. They are definitely trying to rip me off. So that’s why I’m doing g it myself. I’m learning as I go. And thank you for your help.🙏🏻

Based on the codes alone you definitely have an air leak, I would check the connections to the intake for sure especially if you’re stating it’s already loose What charge pipe are you running? You might also be leaking from turbo to intercooler. I ended up replacing every single plastic pipe on the car. You also have a misfire have you checked your coil/plug on cylinder 1? |

Absolutely. And it looks extremely easy. I work on aircraft for a living, I am an aviation electronics specialist by trade, didn’t in the military for 15 years. So this is definitely all DIY for me. As I said, I just bought the car, I love the car(when everything is working right). I will definitely get ISTA going. And once I get all the the minor bolt on upgrades and maintenance buttoned up, then the plan will be to move to tuning and more modifications. Again, thank you.

My CP to intake felt loose, however showed no leak, my leak was the seal on the turbo inlet. $15. for OEM part. That smoke tester will come in handy now that I have an evap leak code and can't pass smog until its fixed ![]() Last edited by f30_335i_ca; 02-03-2025 at 11:43 PM.. |
