I know this is older but still absolutely relevant. So, I have exactly the same issue, and stealership tells me it’s a $9,000 eccentric shaft repair. I looked at the codes myself and and there is not even one code for anything in valvtronic system. I am definitely loosing boost pressure somewhere. I looked and moved my charge pipe(stock) and it is clipped but extremely loose at the intake. Could this be an issue if it’s just on there but not tight? It’s tight at the intercooler, but definitely moving easily at the intake. Thanks if you reply. And anyone can chime in if you have any ideas!

They’re giving it to you without lube, $9k is insane.
What specific codes do you have?

It should be tight at the intake also, the metal clamping ring should hold it in place

They are absolutely trying to give it in my meth bung without lube. Anyway, I’m new to all of this, I don’t have ISTA or Carly, I had to get a reader from O’Reillys which gave me something at least. I’ll put some pics in and I’ll translate if I need to. Also, I just got this vehicle from the same dealership, and I needed to have a water pump replaced because it was staying on and draining my battery. It came out of maintenance with this issue above and other electrical issues, TPMS/Key fob antenna not working. EVERYTHING worked fine before the water pump was replaced. And they still say I am responsible to pay it gets repaired by them. They are definitely trying to rip me off. So that’s why I’m doing g it myself. I’m learning as I go. And thank you for your help.🙏🏻

You can find ISTA on here for free. I definitely recommend it. It will make ownership a breeze.

Based on the codes alone you definitely have an air leak, I would check the connections to the intake for sure especially if you’re stating it’s already loose

What charge pipe are you running?

You might also be leaking from turbo to intercooler.

I ended up replacing every single plastic pipe on the car.

You also have a misfire have you checked your coil/plug on cylinder 1?

I have stock everything. So the charge pipe is st k plastic, and the rest are likely the same. I have not checked cylinder one yet, but I will definitely look. I am going to replace spark plugs anyways, I don’t know when they were done last. I think the leak is definitely at the chragepipe, because like I said it is super loose if I grab it and try to move it. Thanks for taking the time sir. I will keep you posted when I can.

Yeah the plastic is junk. You should replace it asap!

Absolutely. And it looks extremely easy. I work on aircraft for a living, I am an aviation electronics specialist by trade, didn’t in the military for 15 years. So this is definitely all DIY for me. As I said, I just bought the car, I love the car(when everything is working right). I will definitely get ISTA going. And once I get all the the minor bolt on upgrades and maintenance buttoned up, then the plan will be to move to tuning and more modifications. Again, thank you.

You may want to consider getting a smoke tester first, always best to verify problems before repalcing parts. I recently got one off Amazon with an internal air pump for $90. it included an inflatable bladder, runs on mineral oil. I put the bladder in my turbo inlet pipe downstream of the mas air flow sensor and made sure it did not pump smoke into the PCV hose.

My CP to intake felt loose, however showed no leak, my leak was the seal on the turbo inlet. $15. for OEM part.

That smoke tester will come in handy now that I have an evap leak code and can't pass smog until its fixed .

Absolutely all good suggestions, thank you. I really do want to do a smoke test for sure. My CP definitely looked and felt loose. I took it off and cleaned some of the blow by oil that was in it, then reinstalled it, but it didn’t change much. I will definitely change it out for a metal one soon though. I’m thinking at this point I may actually have an valvtronic eccentric shaft issue also, because I heard the accentric shaft try to spin before I started the car the other day, and it sounded like it was stressed for sure. Which is strange because I’ve only heard it do it that one time. I’m not sure how long it’s been since the spark plugs were changed either, so I’ll do that too. But thank you for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it.
