My understanding is the strength of a Redline detector that is has a longer range than a 9500iX.

That being said, I've used both of my 9500iX detectors on trips to Road Atlanta when I worked for Skip Barber Racing School. They saved me a few times. I always had plenty of time whether they were using K or Ka band. LIDAR, or Laser as some call it, you have to be pretty careful of no matter how good you think your detector is. I can speak from 26 years as a State Trooper. It's always better to use a detector and stay in the traffic and not try to stand out.

I personally think that the 9500iX has an easier display to read. I usually have the speed display feature enabled considering I use snow tires on my E46 in the winter and they throw the speed off a little bit.
