Fueling Upgrades

I'm on the path of getting my car ready for PS2 and I was wondering what fueling mods I need to run it at full potential. I know upgrading the hpfp is a must, but if I do that do I also need PI? And would a stage 2/3 LPFP be necessary to run full 85? I tried looking for a simple answer but couldn't find one so I rather ask before I spend the $$$.

First, decide if you really want full E85 or not. There is diminishing returns after about E40-50, and most custom tuners will suggest a E30-E50 tune. Depending on how high you want to go with E content, that will determine if you need stage 1 or 2 HPFP.

Full E85 with a stage 2 HPFP might be nearing the limit of the LPFP. It's rare people run full E85 without doing PI, so hard to say with certainty. I would not really do both... either do a HPFP, or do PI.

If that's the case with full e85 then I'll probably stick to e40-e50 max. Florida has 93 everywhere and I'm going to run meth for the added cooling effect so e50 would be more than enough. With that in mind then, the only fueling upgrade I would need then is a hpfp?

You can't go full e85 with a stock LPFP, at least not on the f30 PWG cars. Keep that in mind. YOu'll find the car is plenty of fun with upgraded HPFP on 93 and e50 as others have stated.

I had to have PI and upgraded HPFP to be able to run full E85 with my PS2.

With a XDI-35, yeah, but some of the newer stage 2 HPFP options might be able to flow enough for full E85 depending on power goals.

I had PI first and it was not able to keep up after 19psi. The XDI-35 was added after (only went with this pump as oppposed to the Dorch as my shop had one on the shelf and gave me a screaming deal on it).It will be interesting to see what the Dorch stage 2 can do on full E85. It is definitely a better set up that using an external controller for the PI like I have to use.

I discussed this a couple of years ago with member obriennathaniel and he said...."Re: PI and Fuel Pump:
The stage 2 LPFP should be able to support 600hp on its own without the walbro pump. I run full e85, I haven't mixed my gas since I went PI, and my e85 actually tests at e95 so that proves the strength of the stage 2 lpfp."

My plan is to run Stage 3 with a stock LPFP as the primary and the outboard Walbro feeding PI. I run e50 now and I don't plan to run a higher ethanol % but I will be pushing 650hp
