This $121 downpipe ....

looks just like my Shiftek that I paid twice that for.

Big discussion on Chinese made parts over on the M side of the board.

I would not be surprised if it was exactly the same as your DP

Neither would I.

I'm just pissed I paid double what I had to. Or, I could have bought two for the same amount of $$. One working, one spare.

I still have my ER charge pipe in the original box in the trunk for when the OEM fails. I don't carry a spare tire but I carry a spare charge pipe.

Why don't you install the CP and not have to worry about the OE one failing at all?

1) I've heard people complain about the install. But, I'm not afraid of a challenge either.

2) Little to no performance gains.

3) I wanna see if the OEM is really that fragile

4) One less thing to remove for my scheduled maint. One less thing to possibly explain to the SA.

With a spare in the trunk, I'm not completley SOL while traveling or on the weekends when dealers are closed.

Well i want to see you replace it on the side of the road if your stock one fails

Its not that simple as changing a wheel

I understand that. But finding an open garage or buying tools is easier than finding a charge pipe.

Why would you remove it for scheduled maintenance? Some people are too paranoid.

If it's not on, I don't have to.

I get my state inspection and emissions done at the same time, I remove my catless DP and JB4 so that I can pass emissions. Or is that paranoid too?

Pictures from Chinese manufactures are not usually of the actual products, but of the one they copied. Its a crap shoot at what you actually will get

Buy it an post some pictures. Would love to see what you actually receive.

Well, a catless DP would affect your emissions. So that makes sense. A charge pipe won't. Worst case scenario is the visual, but if it's black then it's unlikely they would notice it.

Let's say your stock CP blows. Then you install the ER CP. are you then gonna remove it for state and emissions inspection?

I'm not gonna fix what isn't broken right now. No performance gains, just some piece of mind, MAYBE. It's hit and miss with the OEMs breaking.

I promise not to call you if my charge pipe blows at 3 AM.

Not the same as Shifteck. Pretty sure the Shifteck is made in USA as they claim.

Also as Mike said, the picture is rarely indicative of what you actually get lol

You are correct.

Quote:
The downpipe is made in the USA from 304 stainless steel with TIG welds for the ultimate in durability, and is backed by the Shifteck NO QUESTIONS ASKED Lifetime Warranty.
