My F30 335i had a similar clunk from the front brake pads, they move just a bit in their carrier. If it bothers you change the pads it is not a very expensive experiment. Just make sure you use some good quality pads.

I had this issue with 1 wheel pad on my 2007 e90.
it was my fault to begin with.

I decided to change my own brake pads Rotor and sensors in my Garage (never again)
my issue ended up being that when putting the inside pad into the piston, it is a pushed in hard.
but I just bent the FINS, to make it easier on my hands, and upon first drive, every brake I hear a Clunk, or Clack.

took it in to my mechanic, he reinstalled and said, don't bend the fins next time, they have to be SNUG.

and that solved the issue.
