F31 335D - which Eibach springs?

Hi all,

Just after a quick nudge in the right direction.

Don’t want to start a debate about which brand of springs to go for, but I’ve opted for the eibach pro (don’t want it too low). I’ve read a few threads on here about which product number I should be looking at for the f31 335d and it seems it’s between E10-20-031-17-22 or E10-20-031-16-22. I read that the “17” were the ones to go for so went ahead and ordered on eBay. But then the seller has messaged me asking me to confirm the maximum load on the front axle so he can determine which springs to send (see photo below).

When I’ve checked the inside of the driver’s door it says that the maximum front axle weight is 1060kg which suggests the “16” code springs would be right.

Which do I need or am I missing something? From reading it seems like people with an F31 335d have gone for the E10-20-031-17-22 but thought I’d better check!

Bump - on the off chance anyone can point me in the right direction - i know it’s quite a specific question but don’t want to fit the wrong ones!

You can fit either, as 1060kg is less than 1065kg and 1095kg, so there is no "wrong" kit. Personally I'd go for the one closest to the axle weight of the car.

Thanks Lorcan - will choosing either affect the amount the car is lowered by?

Does those product numbers look right to you? Wasn’t sure if there was a mistake in the listings/details - would have thought only one would be listed for the 335d xdrive.

Please report back once you’re done. Good luck.

Yes the heavier spring will make it sit higher and vice versa. The numbers look right but I'll check when I start work later. I agree it is a bit odd how they list two versions but I suspect that in the vast array of springs they manufacture for other people two are close enough so they list them both. Schnitzer do something similar and "recycle" old part numbers if they are suitable. G20 rear springs were originally specced for an E92 for example. No point in making a new spring if one already exists with the desired wire thickness, free length and number of coils.
