Wedge Performance response time/experience
So I usually don't like to go public with negative experiences but I wanted to know if anyone here has any experience or input regarding Wedge Performance and their customer service/response time. Ever since I paid for my two octane maps all I received was my base two maps. I got a response 24 hrs later mentioning some corrections on my logs (which I sent immediately) but since then I have gotten my FIRST revision or even a follow up to my questions regarding the comments about the logs. Zero response. Is this normal or am I being impatient? If each revision is going to take 72 hours then I don't think is worth it IMO

Supr3me made a similar post regarding Wedge and their response time. You can find it here.

Setting up is not quick. I have been doing logs all summer, and as a result, two good maps for different fuels are ready. There are no problems with wedge.

Chose Cary Jordan for my 91oct tune. My experience was inconsistent, sometimes I would get a revision every day and sometimes I won't get a revision for a week+. I ended up jumping on a Paul Johnson E40 tune mid way and my experience with PJ is great. I would get a revision after an hour of logging (if I log in the morning), I usually log later in the day. But I always get a revision once a day. Do mind that these tuners are busy and scheduled for dyno remote tunes weeks in advanced.

Also tuned by F80 Paul and I got revisions within 24-48 hours. 72 hours isn't really that bad but if they aren't responding at all then that's a problem. Maybe your best bet is to schedule dyno time with them.

when your service depends on 1 person and no other person on the team can help, the response time is going to heavily depend on that person's workload.
a 72 hour response time is normal with custom tuning, give them time it'll be worth it

People seem quick to forget they arnt the only person wanting a tune... You are one of at minimum 100 active persons getting tuned by said person, its not like going to a tuning shop and booking dyno time and having said person tune your car there and then.

Overall I'm satisfied with my experience with Wedge. I agree that sometimes the response times have been inconsistent and on one occasion we had a miscommunication that resulted in a much longer wait-- I take some of the responsibility for that miscommunication.
I think Steven is quite good at tuning from a technical standpoint, but I would say that my biggest peeve with Wedge is that there isn't much in the way of communication. There was no initial phone call where we discussed goals and talked about the path to get there, or risk tolerance, or anything like that. Just fill out the form on the website and then you get your base map. On projects like this I like to talk about what we're doing, why, where are we at in the stream of progress, how close are we to the limits of the engine, etc etc. You won't get that with Wedge. You send a log, they send a rev. Just my 2 cents.

I actually found Steven is good for that type of thing, we only talk over email but he is very responsive and answers my questions.
I told him how I used my car and he tuned for that. i.e. he left a bit of power on the table as the car is used for track days and he wanted a bit of an extra safety margin. |

I'm on rev 21 right now lol
But I feel like he didn't understand that I wanted 600 whp initially so we keep making small adjustments and pushing more power.

yeah, think i know how you feel. i used him a little over a year ago. the results weren't flattering. i had to pay another tuner to finish it off.
a buddy of mine in the midwest parted out his car after using him. didn't break anything but he said he wouldn't go with him again if he could turn back time. fast response before you pay to acquire you. moves you to the slow lane once you do pay coz you are somewhat stuck with him unless you pay someone else again. Custom tune ain’t no cheap. Think about paying doubled. Last edited by SecretiveVictoria; 03-29-2022 at 06:04 PM.. |

If I did, I'd go with jb4 + WMI BEF tunes as they do good integration. I've come to the conclusion their solution is top notch for what it offers. Although self installed torqbyte WMI with custom tune is really good too. |

It's a superior solution WHEN it integrates with the JB4 WMI as it provides the back end flash. I already have the torqbyte controller which triggers on RPM + PSI, it's good enough for me and my tune. I am just speaking as someone who's installed AEM, Jb4 WMI, and now torqbye on my own car. Take it with a grain of salt.

So by “integration” you mean with bm3 it’s just blindly injecting meth but mhd feeds back the sensor output back to main computer to potentially save catastrophic engine failures? Is that thru can bus

bro most custom tunes on bootmod3 have CANbus compatibility. All you have to do is enable it in the advanced channel settings which can enable (RAM) settings
