Any Sky TV deals knocking about?

Was a thread a good 12 months ago now, but wasn't any good deals at the time.

Anyone have any contacts or know of any good deals?

Just want TV and HD/Ultra HD, don't understand the offerings with Netflix now. I don't need it as someone else pays for it! But doesn't seem like you can remove it.

My Freesat box is on it's last legs (Tbh it always has been). Just want something that works, nothing has ever beaten my old Sky+ (Although Tivo was well ahead of the game back in 2001 )

I'm paying way too much, so interested to hear what people are getting and for how much.
Entertainment, Netflix, ultra HD, multiroom, kids, fibre max broadband £84.

Well I'm about to cancel Sky! Although they've not contacted me to confirm, I can see from the direct debit details on my bank that they're about to increase the monthly cost to £84 from £52 and I'm not having it! I've tried without success to talk to them (both on the phone and via online chat) so it looks like I'll just have to cancel the direct debit to get them to respond; if they don't agree to keep the monthly cost where it is I'll switch to NowTV as I can get the Sky channels I want from them without any increase in what I'm paying at the moment.

Cancel then wait for the retentions team to call. I'm currently paying £66.50 for sky signature, ultimate TV add-on (boxsets and netflix premium), kids, ultra HD, Q multiroom, fibre superfast 76mb.

I’ve recently renewed for 72 per month we get fibre max with line rental, sky signature, ultimate tv add on with Netflix, ultra HD, Sky Cinema, sky boost and buddy, multi room for the Q.

Don’t think it’s too bad for what I get.

Black Friday deals will surface next month. I’d hang on for that.
Last year I got the whole package except Sports, including movies, Netflix and high speed BB for £75.50.

Took me 2 hours all in on the phone, but it’s halved from 110 quid pm to 52. That’s ultra hd, multi room, box sets, cinema, fibre broadband. However I did have to pay 50 quid to swap our launch year box to one of the new ones as it didnt support HDR.

Looks like I need to renegotiate when my contract runs out next year as I'm paying £99 per month & getting less than some of you, trouble is I really like Sky Q, no wires with 4 boxes. I've just built a log cabin bar/games room in my garden & added a mini box in there, connection wasn't great so I rang Sky & got through straight away, they sent an engineer round a few days later and fitted a booster at no cost so now it works flawlessly. They only guarantee it working in your house so I thought it was pretty good service that they were prepared to get it working in my garden room but when I'm paying what I am it's probably not too much to ask!

I daresay I could have got through to speak to someone if I'd been prepared to hold for two hours but for me 30 minutes of listening to music was long enough! I'm sure Sky will say their back-up team is being impacted by the effects of Covid but frankly I'm sick of hearing that used as an excuse for poor customer service.

On the subsequent online chat I signed-off by saying I've been waiting long enough so please take this as notice to cancel my service; I'm sure that will have been lost in the ether but when my direct debit isn't paid I'm hoping it might concentrate their mind and I'll get either a call or at least receive an e-mail.....

Pretty similar to me except I don't have Sky Cinema; if they keep my subscription at £52/month I'm happy to continue but at £84/month they can take a running jump!

Just cancelled ours.

Looked through the recording section and 95% of it was free to air channels. Just bought a freeview record box and we use that now.

The only thing we missed was Sports but I found a way of getting that with £45 per year and an Amazon firestick. Sure, its not 4K quality but its also far cheaper.

I had so many monthly outgoings for entertainment that we needed to cut down so we just have Netflix, Amazon Prime (mainly for the deliveries) and Spotify Family which we sublet two accounts out for £10 a months only costs a fiver.

As already said, if you can I would wait a few weeks for the Black Friday deals to come online. Usually some very good offers on Sky and Now TV. We watch hardly any live TV except from sports it's all boxsets so Now TV does us fine, there are always offers on it and your not tied to a contract.

Usually just threaten to leave and the cancellations department lower the payment a while but then jack it up the following year.

Following this thread, my bills went up from 83 to £93 a month this month. Felt it was time to act.
Just come off the blower, sold them a sob story around needing to reduce the bills, we were only watching Netflix plus some stuff that is available on freeview. Thinking about moving to free view with a separate Netflix account...
After nearly 45 mins on the phone, pretty happy with the result.
Signature, ultimate on demand (Netflix UHD) multiroom, HD, kids. Ultra HD. Also got them to add in sky cinema and upgrade our super fast fibre broadband (50Mb/s) to ultra fast 145Mb/s. Final price £71.50.
Go on gents, there are deals to be had with sky.

finally got round to phoning BT - price down from £92 to £42 per month. But that is only Fibre, Now TV, HD. I dropped BT Sports (only ever watch motogp) but that is still working on the box (not via app).

I am sure there are better deals out there and maybe even to come BlackFriday. For example Vodafone seem to have gone up in price.....getting ready for a "sale"?

In a similar vein, just cancelled Sky, tried connecting one of the dish leads into the tv, scanned for Freesat channels, found plenty but can't see anything. If I do just a "normal" satellite scan it finds loads again but predominantly ladies in the all together. Am I doing something wrong? Do you need to register for Freesat?

Did you have Sky Q? Q uses a wideband LNB where as normal sky and Freesat use a standard LNB. I made sure they installed a hybrid LNB so I can switch back to Freesat easily.

I do have sky Q, think it was installed in may last year. It seems to find the channels ok but when I select the source nothing there. Tv is a new Samsung one.
