Scratched back seat
Or back of the front seat rather. Anything I can do about that.?
It really annoys me, as until now, the interior in the back was as new. Wellies on kids in the back is a big no. The soles are very rough and feet go everywhere. From now, it's shoes off!

Bit harsh blaming the kids! Looks like its been scratched by something laying on the dropped seats imo - i've had the same.
I'd give some shoe polish a try. Worked wonders on my old cars with black plastic. You can also use things like wood varnish amazingly. If water removes the 'whiteness' of the scratch, pretty much anything with a laquer like finish will make it look much better. Theres a few youtube videos where people use varishes and the like on nasty black plastic (like 20y/o weathered bumpers) and it works wonders. |

Buy a new seat back. They are about £60. 2 toggles on the bottom come out then the back slides down and off.

Give a little heat from a hot air stripper a go. Go gently though, as you don’t want to melt the ‘grain’ of the surrounding plastic. It may reduce the whiteness of the scratch.

I'll also go with kids and wellies - they did one of my seats too.
I know it was them as when I took them out there was mud on the seat and when I wiped it off with a wet wipe the scratch was there. |

The seat backs come off really easy. There are two clips at the bottom, once the centres are pulled out they come out easy, then just pull downwards to release. See if you can get a replacement from a breakers or ebay.
Found one on Ebay £25. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164428202462 Last edited by sensible; 10-18-2020 at 11:11 AM.. |

I know this is 'after the horse has bolted' but I swear by back seat car tidies ( whatever they are called). Adds extra space to store toys and junk but more importantly protects against lil uns scratching the back of the front seats. Got mine from aldi for a few quid.
