So how do you replace an M5?
Well I guess that depends on what is important... There were a couple of things that didnt work for me with the M5, neither the cars fault and both obvious before i bought it - assuming i was finding reasons not to buy! One was size - i had previously had both A6 and E class and been annoyed by physical size, the other was dog space - i have a well behaved spaniel who will happily sit in the front footwell... until i get out then she tries every seat, setting the alarm off... So i got out whilst i could.. and spent 3 months trying to convince myself i didnt need a flash car, if i got another it would be a sensible estate, or nothing... Welcome to a sensible estate...i would have had an M340iT but the prices were too close and i am an Audi fan boy... PS yep, work is shit, but i have a nest egg, and a bit of a gift from family means its cash neutral apart from monthly cost - but I spend buggar all each month. Clearly i feel bad for the staff losing their jobs, and i have taken a pay cut to support them - but I still have to have some fun!! I have given up most other things... Very nice, Ian
There's something very special about the RS4 and RS6, I would love one. And I say that as no lover of hearses or, indeed, Audis. The idea of the RS3/5/7, for instance, leaves me utterly cold. But a RS4 on the drive, yummy!

Spent an hour or so in a Cayenne S with that engine and thought it was excellent. That's in 2.2/2.3 tonnes of SUV, so must be mega in a lighter car.

It is. Its actually not much quicker than an M340i, and I suspect slower than the ACS3 that Joe was driving recently... but the latter is more expensive and 3 series residuals meant the M340 was nearly as much per month with the option packs ticked for what I wanted on a 3 series...

Very nice indeed Sir
Looks great in White with the black wheels, so glad you came to your senses and dropped the idea of that hideous 640i The RS4 is high up my list, did you get much of a discount? I tentatively enquired last year and they were at that point not prepared to move much. Enjoy |

Very nice. Always fancied one.
They weren't available when I bought the 5 series due to WLTP, and might have ended up being a bit small for us, but pretty sure I was close on the man maths I remember in the late 80's turning up at a new girlfriend's house and commenting on the quattro parked on the street outside, and her casually saying to was her dads. I was so impressed |

ETA discounts not normally great which might be why residuals are better, the 4 year GFV for this is almost the same as the M5... |

Well done and you are going to love it . Had an extended test-drive in RS4/RS6 and must say I am very impressed. You need to drop ABT pack on it as it looks bonkers (cost bonkers too) |

I think many are sick and tired of the usual shades of greys and blacks at least BMW seem to be offering some nice choices on the M3/4 now. Not going to be popular on here but I think the perceived image of Audi is now superior to BMW and I dont think the massive discounting from BMW helps them and the Audi interiors are much nicer than BMW and streets ahead of the mash ups Merc now trot out. I think you have made a great purchase which is refreshing after some of the dross people have been buying on here lately |
