2012 328i Cabin Air Filter Location

I haven't opened up under the glove compartment or taking the cowell housing off to determine which is the correct location, but was surprised when my iDrive's system makes no mention of air filters -- either the engine or the cabin air filter.

I bought this cabin air filter on Amazon, but it looks way too big to go under the glove compartment, but the packaging says it fits my car. Only place this would fit is in the engine compartment.

In a US 2012 328i, is the cabin air filter under the hood or under the glove compartment?

^^ Notice how the cowell area isn't as thick as some of the older BMWs? I'm thinking cabin air filter is under the glove compartment on the passenger side and this is the wrong filter for my car. Thoughts? Confirmation?

Thanks,
Ryan

There are several bolts that need to be removed under the glove compartment and you have to unplug the footwell led, probably shows in the video. Should be covered under maintenance

That's definitely not the correct filter OP. The procedure on F30's is extremely simple. Just follow that video and you'll be done in 5 minutes.

1) Thats not the correct filter as mentioned. Its the E90 type filter you have there

2) Dont buy cheap Chinese crap. Get the Mann filter as they are OEM for many of them or make a perfect copy of the OEM one.
