New 2018 328D MPG

Picked mine up recently and I am very impressed with fuel economy. At 80 MPH on the highway it can get 49 MPG which is pretty damn good to me.
Roughly 1/4 tank left and approaching 500 miles on tank.
Ride quality with sports suspension is very good.

So far so good with this 328D. You can easily do 80-90 MPH and still get good fuel economy. Quite surprised with how good it is on fuel.

I drove from Culver City all the way down to Dana Point and when I arrived the tank was still full ?? I was not doing 65 MPH either and I still got close 50 MPG ?

It is no M3 but it is not that slow either. Can easily cruise at 100-120 MPH comfortably all day long although California traffic and traffic laws do not allow for this to happen. I can see this as a nice autobahn cruiser across Europe with good fuel economy at 100-130 MPH.

The heater on this thing works very very good also. Puts out some nice hot air from that Diesel engine. Not sure about cold air from air conditioning unit yet.
Factory brakes are good but not Porsche good although good enough for highway driving. May not be up to task at the track but very good for the street and highway. Handling with M Sports Package is very good for street and freeway driving but no Cayman handling that is adequate for track days.

Car came with stock stereo and stereo is actually not so good. Need to upgrade the stereo system. Perhaps speakers and amp need an upgrade.
New navigation unit is good. For some odd reason this 2018 3 series out of Germany did not get the new digital dashboard that all other 2018 models got..

Best 25 mile average on my Cruze was 62.9 Cruise control on at 75 mph. Traded it in 2 days ago on my new 2017 328d Wagon (untitled with 9k miles), was a managers car so got it at fire sale price). Got $10k for my 2014 Cruze Diesel with 48k miles. Cost me$12k over last 4 years to own that which was a new but end of model year clearance purchase.

Haven't had this long enough to get any real idea yet what it can get on the same routes.

Mine has M Sprot Package , Heated steerign wheel etc...Nav and I specifically looked for this feature...Harmon Kardon. Love it on my 335i.

I can get 4.3 L/100 (54.5 MPG) in the summer, on EcoPro, with A/C on Auto 21*C, lowest intensity, cruising at 105 KM/H (62 MPH). I've gotten as low as 5.5 L/100 KM (42MPG) going 130-150KM/h (80-93MPH) in comfort AT or sport, manually shifting to 8th.

If you RTFM, you'll note that there is an electric ceramic heater unit built into the HVAC to give you heat before the engine warms the coolant. Diesels actually run cooler (I believe the thermostat is 189F or so) than gassers.

My wife is averaging 36.5-37.0 in hers in Vegas traffic seeing as NDOT has screwed up the freeways again. On a run to Stateline and back the mpg was nearer 50.

I average 39-40 mpg in mine with the chip turned up pretty good. I never use eco pro anymore. Lack of power straight up pisses me off. I spend a good portion in sport+ driving like a manual. Can't complain though. Getting ready to get a flash to replace the POS piggy back. We'll see how that goes. lol.

My wife and i had made a trip 2 years ago and my 2014 F30 328d Rwd averaged 750 miles to the tank loaded down with luggage! Not as good as you got but very impressive for a 15 gallon tank.

Traded it in with 88,800 miles and not once had one single problem with it. Most bulletproof and reliable vehicle i ever owned.

My 2017 X5 Sdrive35i gives me anxiety watching the gas needle move after driving that 328d F30 which wouldn't move the fuel needle until you hit about 120 miles...the X5 moves after 40 miles...🥴
