I bet you a smaller indy shop will do it as i was told the same thing - BMW said they wouldn't repair a RFT at all, and most chain tire shops said mine was too close to the sidewall. The 20$ i paid was to take the wheel and tire off, remove tire from wheel, put the plug/patch from the inside (proper way), remount tire, rebalance, and reinstall on car. It's an option if you have quite a bit of tread left and want to finish off the RFT while doing research on your next set.

I attached a picture below of what mine looked like. My tires had <1k miles on them when it happened, and the RFT are excessively expensive, so i had it repaired and drove about 8k miles before replacing all 4.

Thank you for the input, you really saved me a ton today! I found an indy tire shop near by who fixed it for $30!

Nice, just keep an eye on it and you should be good. I never had any issues with my plug/patch.
