Let me know if you are selling your car.

I'll avoid it like the plague because I think the gearbox, transfer and any other rotables will be rather fucked....

My dyno result, accurate or not, was on the other thread (367/800 I think).

Gearbox is rated at 750nm but the car is currently at the dealership having a new transfer box fitted.

393/864 sorry isn't happening either the car is pushed extremely hard or the stock figure was quite high on the dyno I hazard a guess 20 odd which would bring it into 370s range.

I recall zf say that the box is rated at 700nm when I looked it up, give a 10 percent tolerance that's 770nm.

Regarding the Gearbox and 700nm limit, this is my theory.

I have done lots of research on the gearbox. The gearbox has a limit of 700nm. Obviously the more power you put through it, the more strain it will have. If you put 705nm through it, it isnt going to break. 700nm is what the gearbox Manufacture (ZF) claim as the safe limit. There is a margin over 700nm what the gearbox is capable of taking. There are many remapped Bmws exceeding the 700nm limit. At around 800nm or even more and they have covered many of miles and never had any problems. In day to day normal driving back and forward to work I don’t use all the power the car has and it probably won’t exceed 700nm anyway so the full amount of power is not being used every time i drive the car. I also rarely Launch the car and i always make sure the car is warmed up fully before it is driven hard. I also plan to service the gearbox at 40,000 miles (before its due at 50-75k miles) I never use the car round tracks or for drag racing etc..
I have been studying the torque usage via the sports display. Just driving normally back and forward to work on the motorway and normal roads the maximum amount of torque i have used is 550nm, so it isnt regular you are using over 700nm. Also, i highly doubt the massive number of tuning companies would be willing to put your car at risk, they must have confidence in the gearbox otherwise they would have unhappy customers no?

However, if people disagree then I can completely understand why.

I do have dyno graphs, it run 313 bhp & 650nm stock and 393 BHP & 864nm remapped with K&N air filter and back box delete. The car hasn't skipped a beat since it were done 7000 miles miles ago. Now at 17k miles. It is a custom remap so you can tell the tuner to cap the torque at 700nm if you want to. The torque is also brought in gradually to reduce the stress on the gearbox.

There isn't really lots of cars running over 800NM though. Yours is the only one I've heard of claiming that.

Broadly speaking though I think that if you're moderately sensible and have mechanical sympathy with how you use your car then it should be fine for a while, but not if you start clocking up high miles.

And all I actually thought after reading how sedately you claim to drive, is "What's the point?!"

I've got 360 bhp and 730NM and once warmed up make maximum use of it wherever possible!

I am not sure sure if the sports dials are accurate following a remap, I know with the MPK BMW change the calibration but unless your sports dials have been re-calibrated by your tuner they will just show a nice curve that's not related at all to real numbers

Yes there are Plenty of 35ds running over 800nm, E series & F series have a look on YouTube etc... Not in the UK but other countries too. I only do about 6-7k miles a year in the 435d. But in rush hour traffic in Manchester most days it's hard to use the maximum performance. Especially with pot holes and speed cameras ! But on weekends on the motorways and country roads etc... It's good to use the power. I can't say that I haven't done serious speeds in it because I have.

I always use BP Ultimate too which has the lowest sulfur rating of all diesel fuels in the UK making it the best for the Dpf. I regular use diesel additive too for the engine and I have never once had any black soot on or in the exhaust tips. Wipe your finger or hand round the inside of the 3.5" tips and there isn't any black at all which I think is quite impressive.

If you use the Bimmerpost app then you can attach directly to your posts. Easiest way by far.

Holy moly !!

637lbft peak, and is still producing >500lbft at almost 5,000rpm (which is what my DMS remapped 30D makes at its peak - allegedly).

Any problems with engine & transmission so far ?

Here's some wild and non consistent figures, very high questionable figures from unicorn, with a wagner intercooler that virtually adds very little power (I know this as i had one).

The only way you will get to even close to a genuine 390BHP is pushing the car to the max. I'd love to see the fueling multipliers.

Its the delta that matters and Unicorn are highly regarding and they look good maps but i call BS on high figures, doesn't even say what correction factors they used or paramaters beforehand.

The Blue one has a Wagner Competition Evo 2 Intercooler so is producing more power than standard power. I have seen it a few times before producing more power with the Wagners.
If I remember rightly you had a fake Wagner Intercooler you were trying to sell for months which made no difference, probably because it was shit and didn't do its job properly !
Contact Unicorn and let him know what you think of his maps.

No it's been perfect. Done over 170000 miles now, no engine lights, no limp modes, no errors. Has never skipped a beat. At the end of the day I'm happy with the power it's producing and how it feels.

Yes small single figure BHP gains its more about keeping IAT's consistent and thus consistent power. So it adds ~20BHP!?! . I've seen it on my own car they don't, what personal experience do you have?.

Even Wagner cant even provide a dyno chart for a F series x35d!, the only way you'll add power with aftermarket intercooler is if the stock one is not upto it - it is. Do logs with ISTA and you'll see the temps hardly budge and a pretty good compared to ambient temps, lastly pressure drop and wagners figures arent that impressive. It 'might' become of more use if you delete the DPF and really push the car.

If you've ever been to China (I have Beijing in fact) or bought anything car related most are made in the same factory badged differently, its a Wagner intercooler (the guy on ebay has sold 100's look at the pictures for yourself) with WAGNER logo ground off!. The fact is the guy who bought it is happy and never had any issues.

Still waiting for your stock vs remapped dyno graph.

I couldn't care less about his maps, I even said they look good. What I'm saying is your not getting a genuine 390+ BHP and ridiculous torque unless yours was a freak car created by Jurgen because he wanted a bit of fun that day with the tolerances . Its pretty obvious the figures vary a lot and stock dyno figures dyno are higher than stock. No one at any of SSR has got anywhere near 390+ nevermind 640+ lb ft .

I'm not wanting to get into an argument but your dreaming if you think those figures are accurate.

Small Figure BHP gains with fake cheap intercoolers not the real thing. Strange how all the genuine Wagner ones ive seen and researched into have made 15-20 bhp. Infact the blue 335d were making a consistent 410 BHP and it reached a highest point of 417 bhp when i spoke to the owner about it.

Im glad the guy who bought it after months of you trying to sell it is happy.
My 4 series was probably built in the same factory as a 3 series, doesn't make it a 3 series though. If a dog was born in a stable it doesn't make it a horse.

Post 37 you will see the graphs. One for before, one for after.

Maybe nobody did get them results at SRR but i guess none of them got theres remapped at Unicorn Motor Developments like i did and wanted a strong map and not capped at 700nm.

I guess you dont believe the figure of 395 bhp quoted by DMS as well ?

Guess you dont believe this is running 800nm too ? or do you ?

But yes i do believe the figures and i am happy
