Rare USA/Canada NBT EVO HeadUnit

With USA HD Radio and SiriusXM Chips, unlike ECE versions with DAB and no HD Radio Chips.

Works with F Series Models 1,2,3 and 4 including M2,M3 and M4

Search extensively to find this particular late model HU with HW 4.1. Purchased this to upgrade family BMW unit but a deer had other ideas.

Because of chip shortage, anyone who’s searched knows all NBT EVO HUs are very rare now. HW 4.1 is very latest. There are no higher Hardware Revisions of this unit. Most units advertised as “iDrive6” are usually HW 2.x or HW 3.x units. Seller does not point out Hardware Version for obvious reasons. HW 4.1 is latest (and last) and very rare as they were only introduced in BMW F2x/F3x vehicles mid 2018 models.

The 2016 HW 2.x units were memory limited (2GB) and CarPlay often crashes. Many remote features were not available with the 2.x hardware. It can only run ID-6 “lite”for CarPlay.

The 2017 HW 3.x had more memory (4GB) but the 2018+ HW 4.1 had the latest technology and remote features.

The mid 2018+ HW 4.x had the latest tech and hardware you can find in this unit, but as F30/F31 were in their last year, much harder to source.

G Series G2x/G8x went with a different non-compatible HU so this is the most up to date OEM tech you can fit in your F Series.

You cannot get any better than this if wanting to upgrade/update your NBT EVO unit. If you want all the remote functions for your 2016 NBT EVO this HU does that (and sell off your older NBT EVO to someone to recoup some costs). Or retrofit entire unit into older NBT model for the newer hardware and features.

Also have access to a working transferable ATM if you want to retrofit entire setup including Connect Drive with full remote features. Latest firmware assure it works with VoLTE post February 2022 3G USA shutdown.

Better to email than post below as the info above will most likely generate a lot of questions not concerning this sale that should be asked in other sections and not the classifieds.

Though i can guide you in the direction of what you might need for your specific situation, everyone's need is different. That is why what is listed above is just the HeadUnit though I have an ATM available I also purchased as well.

A WLAN antenna can be purchased at any BMW Parts seller or Amazon for $25 or less.

Would this reenable Connected Drive? You would need the atm for that too right? Mine got shut off for the 3g discontinuation.

No. You would need the HU and ATM combo I mentioned in OP. I do have a retrofit ATM as I stated. It would restore Connected Drive. It would also give you remote functions with a HW 3.1 or later NBT EVO HU.

Those are found from factory on the older RAM limited HW 2.x units. A few sellers have aftermarket added to newer units but charge up to $1500 for the units with that modification. Also, many of the units the mod is being done to are the ECE, not USA units, which leaves several key USA Chips/Services out of the unit. I prefer to add in a factory ATM retrofit if upgrading from a pre 2016 NBT instead of adding a GPS Port. If using CarPlay, most use Waze or Google for GPS Navigation anyway. Another cheaper option is to buy a device that inserts the car’s GPS signal into the NBT EVO unit without cutting into the HU.

Just the head unit which works with either HKor HiFi system.

The 2012-2015 NBT units from the F3x and F8x series were also used in the F10 series, at least in the USA. As this is from a F3x series and can be retrofitted into a pre-lci F3x series, it should be what a F10 needs for retrofit.

As for what else you would need for a complete retrofit, it really depends on the details of what F10 you have and what options your vehicle already has.

If you want to email me your VIN and/or other specs, along with what you want at minimum, I can give you a more complete answer as well as where to obtain the other parts cheaply.

Yes this can be retrofitted into a 2013 328i with HU_ENTRYNAV. However you’d need a new controller that works over kcan2, a handwriting module if that was wanted, and rewiring for those as well. There might also be be some wiring changes needed where the unit plugs into the chassis harness, depending on what you wish to accomplish.

That seems somewhat complicated. I just want bluetooth that doesn't sound like new york city rats dying. I have a crappy andream 10.25" aftermarket screen. But the audio from bluetooth is a failboat. I realize it uses 3.5mm, but I have used 3.5mm for years without an any serious quality degradation.

Anyway, enough ranting. Thanks for letting me know. I am going to do some research and see if this is feasible.

For exact reason I went through different setups and end up getting OEM retrofit kit, because non of those aftermarket kits works like nbt evo.

I am selling a kit it interested fyi.
