Well that's the ENET cable ordered....
Out of interest, what have you coded on your car? My car is LCI but not many additional options so no electric mirrors, seats etc so I'm interested to see what are the main things being coded. Probably EBT is the main one, followed by?? |

Following from the conversation with shawnsheridan;
Looking at the steps provided on the "E-Sys - How to change FA in F-series car.pdf" guide, it says to do following: - Go to Expert mode > VCM. Load your saved FA file, right-click on FA and calculate FP again. Then - Click VCM master tab, and click write FA FP. New FA will be written to the car. Just to confirm, is this step writing to the ECU module or the VCM? Thanks. |

So the last step of changing the FA should be: "New FA must be verified before it can be written to car. Right-click FA and calculate FP again. If FA entered is wrong, error will be shown. For example, “DDD” is not correct FA and E-sys will display error message. After FP is calculated, save the new FA." Then I VO code the head unit right? Thanks. |

Cool, many thanks. Hoping for one last question before I go too far!
If I do the above then want to restore to factory, are these the right steps (below)? Oh and also, I'll be changing the start/stop too! Many thanks for your help. open e-sys connect read vehicle order activate fa right click SVT -> read coding click on the ECU itself - NOT the CAFD_**** click on CODE |

Sorry, I haven't done any coding before so probably getting confused. What I'm doing is following shawnsheridan's 2 steps below. Now I thought the first step was done by following the "How to change FA in F-series car.pdf" guide (like we were talking about above). And THEN you do step 2 and VO code head unit. So I thought there were two separate steps to restore, I'm wrong eh?
Step 1. Change FA from 6NH to 6NS: E-Sys - How to change FA in F-series car.pdf Step 2. VO Code Head Unit and standalone Combox (CMB_MEDIA) if present: Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on Head Unit ECU (e.g. HU_NBT, HU_CIC, HU_CHAMP, HU_ENTRY, HU_ENTRYNAV, etc.) (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE (Not Code FDL). |

Retrofitted nbt into f30 all went great, nbt came with 6nh was able to stream music but wanted office for txts but since I coded 6ns the USB connects n disconnect rappidly. I kno this is a problem with some iPhone cables but it was working fine before I coded 6ns, should I disable snap in adapter or?? Anyone else face this problem? Everything was working fine before I coded 6ns so it shouldn't b the cable correct?

1. When I do “Right-click FA and calculate FP again Then save the new FA." This is just saving a new FA to the laptop, not anywhere in the car? 2. When doing the VO code to the head unit, this is applying the above FA to the head units ECU? God I hope that’s right! Many thanks, very much appreciated. |
