Hello,

I'm trying to add a back up camera with wireless kit purchased from avin to my andream CarPlay system. I've got the wiring of the transmitter and camera in the trunk done and I believe everything is correct because the transmitter turns on when in reverse. I connected the receiver to the andream but I nothing happens when in reverse. I tried to hard wire it as well bypassing the wireless transmitter and receiver, but still nothing. My car is manual and I think I'm missing something but I'm not quite sure what. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to connect the yellow wire, to the blue wire on the transmitter.

Plug in the rca to the back rca on the andream loom.

Then in the settings on the MMI, go into reverse select aftermarket and then turn off line detect.

This what I did: connected yellow wire to blue wire on receiver. Nothing happens. System works when tested with a TV. Rear camera is displayed on tv when put in reverse

Well I thought 1 of the recent updates sorted this out, but I guess not.

Looks like you need to wire the purple wire to the reverse lights still with a manual car.

By purple wire, you mean the one labeled "back"?

I'm confused about the purpose of connecting the 12v reverse (yellow wire) to the blue receiver wire. When I put the car in reverse, I'm measuring a voltage drop from 9v to 5v on the blue wire. Wouldn't this work as a trigger to tell the unit to switch to the camera display by connecting it to the purple wire?

Now I tried making that connection, but I think it's not working because maybe purple wire needs to register a 12v signal. Any thoughts?

I did end up ditching the wireless transmitter and just ran the wires straight. But it did work with the wireless transmitter. What settings do you have on your andream?

Gotcha. I have the carlinkit, so the settings may be a little different, but I have the camera set to aftermarket and anything related to the lines off. Ironically are your wires and their respective labels are the exact same on my unit!

UPDATE: MCU update solved the problem! Thanks!

Hi, I am having difficulties connecting my andream reverse camera retrofit and have read in here that sometimes it that you need to upgrade the software or firmware. Can someone tell me how to do that ?
