Zelle has no seller protection. For that reason you only use it with people you know. But you can use PayPal with friends and family as well, with no fee, so I don't see the reason to use Zelle at all.

What's the issue with Zelle? I am aware of that service, my bank offers it but never used it- so I'm curious.
Thanks
Bill
It's not an issue with Zelle per se, as I understand. Zelle is best for people you trust and with its integration with a variety of banks is great for paying kid bills for sports, bills with friends, etc. I use PayPal and Venmo for this all the time. I have not used Zelle yet as all of the fees and reimbursements for expenses are with friends that use PayPal or Venmo. The real issue is protection from fraud in any of these circumstances. Any transfer of funds to someone you don't know has risk. Using a service that protects you from that risk is obviously better. Much like using a credit card for online purchases. I think that is really the point here - protection from risk. OP even admits that. Unfortunately this is easy to do when you are in a hurry and/or feel that you can trust the person you are paying.

Zelle is instant cash transfer. Bank to bank. BUT only send to trusted people. There is no recourse. It is NOT like a credit or debit card. People who use cash only like to use it. For example, the woman who cuts my hair. If I’m short of cash, I can use Zelle. There are no fees. When I ship my car. They are a cash or cashiers check business. They use Zelle.
Above post wasn’t there when I started writing this.

Hes got a new name nl096

The number Probally represents how many fake accounts he has. This guy is definitely scamming. once i mention where he lived after I searched his basic info online and I said I will not purchase without using PayPal. He never answered back and then messages me again on here for the calipers I was looking for as if he didn't message me the day before with the same fake number. He has atleast 6 profiles so he adds his own appreciation and all brand new accounts. Stay alert. No PayPal no deal as said before.

Yes PayPal is a lifesaver. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. I had one guy try to scam me once and he said PayPal is an extra 3% fee so why he doesn't like it. I offered to pay an extra 3% to cover it. Good thing I did, saved me from quite the loss.

Real sellers take the PayPal fee into account and price what they're selling accordingly. It's called 'the cost of doing business'.

this scammer is still out here scamming.
Thought it was odd that 2 different 'users' replied with the same exact message but with different phone numbers. googling the numbers brought me to this thread.

Except for the fact that PayPal is horrible to deal with, slow to release funds and even slower if there's any conversions needed. Waiting 6 weeks to get paid one time.
Not sure what a better alternative would be but I vehemently avoid PayPal with a passion.

I remember I got scammed once. I went on Craigslist and post a bunch of apple products for a significantly less amount. Just with the number that you Zelle'd. Hell get like 2929847 calls and texts a day. If it keeps happening they might even end up changing their number. Call it petty, or whatever, but I was definitely upset and it was the first thing I could think of to get even. Lol… efff scammers.

Also, if you have Bank of America. Try giving them a call. https://abc7news.com/amp/bank-of-ame...sfer/11118058/

Also, I forgot to mention. If you do…. Google their area code and use the same region they're in, so it doesn't seem like a scam 😂

I have also been contacted by DareKR. He sent me a DM looking to sell me an OEM cat approximately 20 seconds after I posted in anothers "cat for sale" thread.
