Aren't these items on your sales contract with a set price (or at least a set price for your total car order)? If so, your sales contract doesn't denote where the accessories are being installed. If the installation will cost the dealer more, that should be the dealer's issue, not yours. Good luck and keep us all informed.

Boy, their policies like this and the elimination of free maintenance is diminishing my opinion of their brand.
I am really hoping your dealer screwed up their communication with BMW on whats going on. I had been planning MPPSK on my 440 order this spring. I feel like if BMW had made such a large change to offerings in Port installed program, considering how many forum members have been adding MPPSK and other accessories it would have started bubbling up in other order threads.

fingers crossed

So, I called the BMW Genius. Which side note, was really quick and easy to talk to a knowledgeable person. They confirmed that the options are not yet available as port installs. They felt like they would become available at sometime in the future once the new model year was in full swing. That makes a lot more sense than what the dealership told me. Genius guy said they were 'shooting from the hip' on their response as they simply don't have the details on the port parts for the LCI refresh.

The whole process of ordering the LCI right at the very beginning of production is a good lesson learned not to do that again. Unfortunately, it was a timing issue for me this time as my lease ends next month and needed to either order a 2018 or pick from a limited amount of 2017 which I couldn't quite find the configuration I liked.

Possibly tanzanite but I want to see it first. Local dealer says they might order one on spec since there are none in the San Francisco area. That would be pretty impressive customer service if it happens.

Saw Tanzanite in person, albeit on 5 series, at dealership a couple weeks ago. It is truly stunning, especially when the sun is shining. Definitely best metallic blue, IMO.

Agreed, I saw it on an M4...really great color. Unfortunately, the sun never shines in Seattle, so...yeah.

You may be able to push this within either Genius or BMWNA, Considering there were no design changes that should influence those parts, with maybe the exception of the interior trim, my guess is this is really more about someone in New Jersey clicking "approve for 2018" in a system. And you might be able to push them. Especially with the car being on the boat AND the ordering system allowing for them on your original order.

The MPPSK is available as part of an actual legit "order guide package" in canada but is still port installed on those cars so i have to believe the issue is clerical not mechanical.

With your order being on the boat, might be worth leaving no stone unturned

Accessories that you order with your car but instead of being fitted at the factory they are fitted at the receiving shipping port. They can be specific to each market (country).

They differ in after market accessories in that the installation is free and they are considered part of the original equipment with respect to leasing.

Typical PIA (port installed accessories) are the MPPSK and exhaust tips, spoilers, and black kidney grill.

Here are some more pics of Snapper Rocks Blues in a German article about BMW production: http://www.bimmertoday.de/2017/03/31...hen-gestartet/

And a YouTube video showing off a new Snapper Rocks Blue 420d GC in a German BMW showroom. (A bit long and boring but gives another view of the colour):

Picked up my 435d GC LCI in Tanzanite Blue, hadn't seen any LCI in TB on here yet so thought I'd share.

Also has Icon lights, HUD, Individual Piano Black trim and Ivory White leather.

Needs the ACS springs, but let me know what you think?
