No BMW Extended Warranty offer

I've just realised, BMW have not offered an extended warranty for the 335d.
It was three years old in March when it had the end of warranty service.
It's not something that appears in the Connected Drive 'portal'.

Anyone else had similar
?

Had you used Bimmercode or Carly to change anything?

Did you have any transmission fail errors - or other errors - that you used Carly to clear faults with?

car was remapped and bimmercode stuff but they carried out warranty work till the final weeks so I'm assuming they never actually checked whether it had been "modified"

Mine didn't have a remap, but I had tried a box on it which intermittently threw up transmission errors.
I cleared those with Carly.

I have always been suspicious about the Connected Drive / Teleservices transferring data to their servers.
I'm even more suspicious now....

Had it been modified in any way?

Maybe it's only an issue with 335d?

When did your warranty expire as they are extending it for vehicles that fall into a certain date range due to the impact coronavirus has had etc.

From their website:
For customers with a warranty expiry during the coronavirus restrictions (from 14th March 2020 onwards), we will extend your warranty coverage until 30th June 2020. End of warranty checks due during this period will also be fulfilled. Customers in self-isolation beyond 30th June should contact a BMW Centre to arrange for collection and delivery of your car.

Mine expired in Jan/Feb before all this COVID. They changed the rear diff and front wheel bearings so doubt they cared about the xhp and remap but I dunno.

My manufacturers warranty expired at the end of March on my 335d, I had a letter at the beginning of March about extending the warranty. I have extended at £500 for the year with £100 excess.

I’d also changed stuff with Carly so can’t see that being the reason why you’ve not heard.

Same here - expired 31/3, got a letter end of Feb and extended it.

Nice bit of common sense from BMW to extend through the pandemic though.

OP - are you the original owner? I've had experience in the past where their database isn't up to date.

Yes. Original owner.
I do remember a letter at the end of February offering breakdown service cover.
If I remember correctly, it was the same type of letter which offered extended warranty on my previous Bmw’s.
Although it was six years ago, so I can’t be sure.

If you were offered the breakdown cover, that normally comes with the extended warranty reminder, as it is part of the package.

Perhaps you have been 'red flagged' due to BMW reading data from the car.

That’s what I’m thinking. Next question is, how and when?

It was almost two years old at the first service and around 18000 miles.
Second service was at the beginning of December around 36000miles.

The breakdown letter arrived before the end of warranty check, at the end of february.

I used Bimmercode /Carly to get rid of that annoying volume popup on the idrive display, very early on. (Before the first service). That is a very obvious, but a minor change. But to not offer any warranty because that had been noted seems very odd.

It seems, other people have done far more changes and not ‘become a problem’.

I’m still wondering if the few transmission fail messages, which I cleared, are automatically sent to their servers which caused it. That system can be/ or is set up to automatically contact ‘your preferred service partner’ in the event of faults / service requirements.

Does anyone have a letter with a contact telephone number on, that they could pass to me and I'll give them a call.
(TIA).

Interesting, mine expires in June, but I wont likely get in again there between now and then - I will need to find out what I'll get for that.

I never got a letter so I rang them, got an email with a login to get a quote. As you've let it expire you'll pay 15% more.
