80,000 Miles and I still LOVE my F30 N55

With all the crazy shit going on in the world with this Coronavirus, I thought it would be good to spread some positivity. Today I turned over 80,000 miles on my 2014 F30 N55 and I love her more than the day I took her home. I just received my Blackstone Oil analysis report and I'm pleased to say this N55 is in great shape.
I've been tuned since 45,000miles on stage 2 BM3 tune with supporting mods (CTS Turbo Intake, CTS Turbo FMIC, FTP CP, VRSF DP, custom exhaust and AEM WMI) pushing close to if not over 400whp. These engines are stout, reliable make great power and sound amazing. The only significant maintenance I've had to perform are gaskets (OFHG, Oil pan gasket and about to do the VCG).
I recently had to upgrade the clutch as it was slipping under WOT and went with the 335is/550 upgrade and CDV delete. Man what an improvement. Even after 80,000 miles the stock clutch still had plenty of friction material and if it wasn't for the added power from the tune I probably could have gotten another 30,000 miles out of it.
So how about we spread some love in this thread. Who else loves their N55?

And it’s a manual!

I’m right being you, put almost 30k miles in the car in the last year and a half, and I still enjoy it!

Hows are your suspension components holding up? I just passed 80k as well but on stock suspension and I feel like everything is shot. Rough ride, one if not two wheel bearings seem to be failing, wheel vibrations, etc. Guess I can thank the awesome NJ roads for it though.

Beautiful car. The decision to install aftermarket charge pipe was very prudent. What was the mileage when you installed it?

Car looks great. I'm over 90k and she's doing well. Doing plugs soon and can't wait to be back on summer wheels. Plenty of time to detail it as well it seems

You're not the only one,

I'm at 150k miles and I can't seem to get tired of my N55.

I picked up the car at 31k miles, went FBO for about 20k miles, and the rest is with PS2 installed, if that gives you an idea how reliable this turbo is. I also drive this car in the winter at 0F to -25F and it starts up fine, though I might change the battery finally this summer.

No issues for me and I've attended a few track days. Roads in NC are good though.

I installed the CP when I went FBO along with the DP, FMIC and intake.

Same here! I have a 2015 F30 N55 manual transmission and I am just about to turn 80,000 miles. I bought the car new and put the AA8 piggy tune with catless downpipe on it within the first couple months. I am now FBO with AA OBD Stage 2+ flash tune. CAR IS BULLETPROOF if maintained properly. I have always done the "in between" oil changes myself so it has always been done every 5000 miles. My clutch is starting to slip really bad so I too am looking to replace with the 335is/550 clutch. I am going to tackle it as a DYI project now that I am working from home. Have to embrace the bright side! Thanks for starting this thread!

Great looking car man!!!

I’m driving a 435i GC M-Sport. I’m running bm3 stage 1 and a vrsf catted downpipe. I tried opening the exhaust valve via bm3 but could never get it to work. Ended up disabling the valve and zip tying it open. Car sounds great this way. At 53k miles I’m still loving it!

None other than my front crank seal and tore my belt 3 times before we found out it was the front crank seal. Surprisingly, none of the belt pieces went into the oil pan through the seal, so we just replaced it and all is good. I had a valvetronic servomotor go 90k miles ago but that was covered under bmw warranty.

NGK 97506 gapped at 0.026". They run great but honestly so did the stock plugs. The main reason I'm running the NGKS is I bought a set off FCPEuro when I fist went stage two per PTF recommendation and with FCP lifetime warranty my spark plug changes only cost me about $7, the price to ship the old plugs back.

Stock plugs, stock gap, unless you have issues or are beyond FBO (e.g., PS2).

My original plugs with 44k miles run completely fine with FBO MHD 2+.
