The Kerma tuner arrived on Tue and I sent the stock file and got the tuned file back the same day. Yesterday I went out to do a test run before the tune and another after to have some sort of comparison and I was left with a big grin on my face.
Disclaimer: I used the native app from my OBDLink MX bluetooth adapter to take the two runs. The conditions between the runs were identical, meaning no temp change or other environmental condition that could impact the result, however the road I tested on is not 100% flat but for both runs I used the same stretch of road. The times therefore will not be real representations of a track based run, but offer at least a comparison. Also I did not use any launch control techniques and simply let the brake go and stomped on the accelerator until I reached a point on the road where I had to slow down again. First run, stock: Second run, Kerma tune Stage 1: Now the next question, can I manage to actually get better gas mileage out of it. I'll have to resist the urges to stomp on it, but we will see.

Keep in mind 6th gear is limited down a bit by a hard transmission software limiter in stock transmission flash, so use 5th or 7th gear for actual engine numbers.

I’ve had my Kerma tune for a couple of months now, here’s my quick review. Mine’s a ‘16 so I had to send the ECU in - sent on Monday and had it back Wed afternoon. I really like the tune, swiss’s numbers confirm my butt dyno. The car feels much torquier but what gets me is the smoothness. It’s so much smoother than the factory tune, just torque everywhere. If you’re looking for a “vtec just kicked in yo” feeling this ain’t it, but it will quickly get you into triple digits if you’re not paying attention. If anything mileage is up a few tenths on the dash readout. My wife has an X3d and it feels very laggy and down on power compared to my car. Definitely recommend if you have an N47 car.

xdelete itself is a really screwy way to get rwd, as the rest of the car still believes it is awd, especially the DSC system, which will expect awd as active when it tries to make certain corrections. |

I'm running the KermaTDI tune and RWD mode myself right now. It's not too difficult to get the rear end to step out with DSC off to have fun if you want. Aside from that, that combo isn't terribly different than with xDrive. There are plenty of RWD 328d F30s with the KermaTDI tune.

My tune:
View post on imgur.com I especially like that gearbox works better now. Also the power is decent now. Injectors are restricting the power. Last edited by Namusuu; 11-06-2020 at 02:15 AM.. |

Sorry guys to resurrect an old post. Last time when I showed the difference in speed gain with the tune I was also curious if it had any positive or negative impact on gas mileage. While I got on average on short trips about 45mpg taking it ease I manged with the tune to get 51mpg from a longer trip from Redding to Gilroy (~250miles). I was in CC the entire time unless I had to drastically slow down due to traffic but that only happened twice on the trip.
This of course doesn't correlate what the car would be capable off without the tune, however it it impressive to get speed gains with the tune and not sacrifice economy with it.

I haven't been here in a while. It looks like the N/A 328d is getting more exposer in the tuner world, compared to back in 2017. After extensive research, MY conclusion is that the top 2 tuners are JR and KermaTDI. JR is in my province and is only 1h drive away. However, it looks like the Kerma numbers are better. My goal is to squeeze out as much WHP and wheel torque (400 ftlb wheel hopefully) as possible. And, I also want to delete the SCR, EGR, DPF...Kerma does not offer a delete. My question is, can I Kerma tune for performance and use another tuner for just the deletes? Would I gain from the deletes (exhaust, DPF..) Is there a delete tuner that works well with karma stage 2 tune? I want to delete all emission and get most numbers while keeping it a DD. TIA to all!

Enabled Please tune my F31. My dream goal is 250+hp and 400+ft-lbs.
No off the shelf tuner will give me these numbers even with deletes and high flow exhaust systems. I'd rather pay you vice a OTS tuner.

Longterm feedback
Hi Guys,
I’m considering taking the plunge on the KermaTDI Stage 1, everything I’ve read sounds great. Does anybody have any longterm feedback on this tune? Thanks Lino Ontario, Canada |

Hey guys, just bought a 14’ 328d
I am completely unfamiliar with bmw, But very familiar with diesel performance, as my other vehicle is a 6.7 powerstroke. The 328d has 130xxx on it. my goal is to fully delete the emissions systems for top longevity and reliability of this car. I will most likely remove the dpf and hollow it out, instead of purchasing a downpipe. input on which block off Plates for the egr cooler, and swirl flap i should order? Also, what tune? If youd send me links to these on here or@ five four one/ seven nine seven/ three two one six I would greatly appreciate it. Thankyou. |

Prepping for tune
Car is at 73K and stock. Got all the drivetrain fluids replaced at 60K, new OFHG, and new valve cover a year ago. I'm thinking of putting on the Kerma stage 2 tune on after the car passes smog later this year. I'm planning to do some prep work before the tune goes on, does this sound like the right path?
