Dorsch Stage 2 pump low pressure line blocks cyl 5 coil/plug?

I noticed that the Dorch Stage 2 B58 pump seems to have moved the mounting location for low pressure fuel line. The stock pump has it going towards the firewall before curving towards the driver's side. This is useful because it doesn't block access to the coils/plugs. However, with Dorch Stage 2 it looks like the low pressure fuel line is blocking access to cylinder 5 coil/plug. Is this the case?

yes. You need to remove the fuel line to access cyl 5 plug. The spool pump is similar, but it covers cyl 6. It's because they seemingly have one pump housing design that is used for all platforms with different adapter plates.

I'll add that depending on what style Torx socket you have, the fastener for coil #4 is blocked by the Y fitting on the Dorch Stage 2 fuel hard line. I have the longer Torx sockets and can't get it to sit squarely on the Torx bolt head.
When I replaced that coil a few weeks ago I unhooked and removed the hard fuel line to access the coil. It added maybe 5 minutes total to the project including removal and reinstallation

This "does it block X coil or sparkplug" is not a real issue.

Who has the Dorch 1/2 pump, do you have an extraneous sound from it? Today I heard a fairly strong rattling sound from this pump, at idle. As the rpm increases, the sound becomes quieter. After a while, it stopped. I recorded the sound in a video.

My engine is louder at idle with the DE Stg2, "clicky-er". But I think it's the injectors, not the pump. I also have not heard the whining or squeaking noise that some people have reported and Dorch has acknowledged. I think that's more of a stage 1 thing tho.

Edit: more clicky???

mechanical pumps are loud. Think old school/high hp cars with the loud running fuel pumps in the trunk. they have settings in MHD/BM3 maps to reduce the sound but I would always expect it to be louder. Especially without the cowl foam.

Not to derail this thread from the OP's original question but I'm now contemplating changing my order from a stg 1 to a stg 2 just for the added sound deadening. I do hear the tune can be adjusted to tone it done some but it isn't the first I've heard of the DE stg 1 being quite audible.

Yeah talk to your tuner. They can resolve it.

So the Stg 2 is supposed to be quieter? I got one coming in next week and I hope it aint as loud as the Stg 1.

Solid67 From what I gather from other members, it is quieter though most say that the tuner should be able to resolve it so I'll reach out to mine. Per what Supreme stated, I'll reach of to Chris Dorch and confirm. Hearing about it more than a few forum members has me thinking to maybe upgrade to the stage 2. I'lll let you know his feedback but I believe kern417 has touched on the topic above as well.

Thank. Contact him. So that we all do not write to him. I think that anyone with stage 1 needs to be exchanged with a surcharge for stage 2. Ask him, is this possible?

I wouldn't expect the stage 2 pump to be quieter than stage 1, but I haven't heard one that bad. It almost sounds like the roller bearing isn't tight on the cam follower. Def send the video to them and get some feedback.

I'll take a video of my stage 2 later today when I have some time. There's no high pitched chirping sound, just clicking. It's not audible inside the car.

Such a strong sound was once, then stopped. But on the go, not a lot of sound is constantly heard from the pump under load, at speeds above 3,000 rpm

This is a normal mechanical sound. Nothing wrong. I just had a squeal, a high unpleasant sound.
